Summary
The fan art of Cillian Murphy as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Secret Wars has sparked excitement.
Doctor Doom has the potential to assume the role of the primary antagonist in Avengers: Secret Wars, displacing Kang The Conqueror. If Doctor Doom indeed becomes the villain, the casting of Cillian Murphy would be both suitable and ingenious.
Cillian Murphy takes on the role of Doctor Doom in stunning fan art for Avengers: Secret Wars. This year has been a success for Murphy, thanks to his collaboration with director Christopher Nolan in Oppenheimer. The two have previously partnered on various projects, with Murphy portraying the Batman antagonist Scarecrow in Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy. Now, a fan on Instagram, known as @marvels.wolverine, has visualized Murphy's hypothetical transition from DC to Marvel, portraying him as Doctor Doom in the Marvel Studios' Avengers: Secret Wars.
Could Doctor Doom Be Avengers: Secret Wars’ Main Villain?
Murphy's transformation into Doctor Doom in Avengers: Secret Wars is visually captivating. In this remarkable fan art, Murphy dons Doom's iconic suit with the hood pulled up, poised to don the legendary mask. The addition of a eerie glow in Murphy's eye adds an extra touch of malevolence, presenting a thrilling glimpse of the Oppenheimer actor as the sinister Doctor Doom.Due to strikes by the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA, Marvel movies have faced delays. As a result, Avengers: Secret Wars is now set to release in 2027. Before the Multiverse Saga's conclusion, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will introduce the Fantastic Four. It is rumored that Marvel's First Family will confront Galactus in their film, but the debut of Doctor Doom might also occur, potentially paving the way for the character's involvement in another project.
The upcoming project may actually be Avengers: Secret Wars. Up until now, the Multiverse Saga has primarily focused on Kang The Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors. Kang appeared to have died in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but the post-credits scenes hinted at the Council of Kangs, a group of Kang variants, becoming the main antagonists for Earth's Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, set for release in 2026.
There are a couple of ways in which Doctor Doom could potentially replace Kang as the main villain in Avengers: Secret Wars. First, it's possible that Kang is not really dead and will make a comeback in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which is named after him. His arc would then be concluded, paving the way for Doom to become the new foe for the Avengers. Alternatively, Doom, who was the primary villain in Marvel Comics' 2015 Secret Wars event, could eliminate Kang similar to how he defeated Thanos in the comics. This would make Doom the ultimate threat in the Multiverse Saga. If Doom were to take on the role of the main villain in Avengers: Secret Wars, Murphy would be an excellent choice to portray him.
