Mind-Blowing Collaboration: Epic Xbox Console Exclusive Landing on Nintendo Switch!

Pentiment director Josh Sawyer believes that there is a potential for the highly acclaimed game to eventually be released on the Nintendo Switch. Pentiment is a recent release from Obsidian Entertainment, a studio owned by Xbox that is currently focusing on the development of the highly anticipated exclusive game Avowed.

Obsidian has established itself as a valuable addition to Xbox's collection of studios, having already released two games exclusively for Xbox consoles, and with at least two more in progress. Grounded, Obsidian's survival game, has gained significant popularity, while Pentiment has received critical acclaim and impressive review scores. Currently, Pentiment can only be played on PC, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X. However, given its success, it is understandable that fans are eager to see the game expand to other platforms.

Pentiment director Josh Sawyer recently expressed his openness to bringing the game to the Nintendo Switch. According to him, there don't appear to be any technical limitations hindering the development of a Switch version, and he would love to see Pentiment available on multiple platforms. While it may seem unlikely for a game owned by Xbox to be ported to other platforms, the positive relationship between Xbox and Nintendo may offer some hope.

Xbox has already launched some of its games on the Nintendo Switch, such as Ori and the Blind Forest, as well as its sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Nintendo and Xbox have also made agreements to include Xbox-owned characters and games on the Switch in different ways. For example, Xbox-owned characters Banjo and Kazooie were added to the roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, along with Steve from Minecraft. Additionally, despite being developed by Xbox's Rare, both GoldenEye 007 and Banjo-Kazooie are available through the Switch Online Expansion Pack service.

Pentiment received mostly positive reviews from critics when it was originally released in 2022, with praise for its unique concept and engaging story. Nintendo Switch players may or may not have the opportunity to play it on their preferred platform, but those who own a PC or Xbox console can easily give it a try. Like all Xbox first-party games, Pentiment is available on Xbox Game Pass, allowing gamers to play it in its entirety without having to purchase the game separately.
