Only Murders in the Building: How Season 3 sets up Season 4
Season 3 of Only Murders in the Building ends with the case wrapped, and characters celebrating the successful opening night of Oliver Putnam’s (Short) play.
Amidst the festivities, an unexpected guest named Sazz Pataki (portrayed by Jane Lynch) makes her entrance. Sazz is not only Charles-Haden Savage's former stunt-double but also a sporadic love rival. Emulating Charles's style, she joins the gathering carrying a crate of beer and playfully jests about duplicating everyone's keys.
Sazz approaches Charles with the intention of discussing a sensitive matter. However, Charles interrupts her by mentioning that he needs to quickly retrieve an exceptional bottle of Argentinian Malbec from his apartment. In a dimly lit kitchen, Charles is unexpectedly shot in the chest through the window, but to our surprise, it is not him who falls to the floor. Instead, it is Sazz who lies gravely wounded. With blood seeping from her wound, she touches it with her hand and starts writing something on the floor. As the credits roll, it becomes clear that someone has targeted Charles for death. Assuming all goes well, Season 4 will revolve around the investigation of Sazz Pataki's murder in the building.
Will there be an Only Murders Season 4?

Hoffman expressed his enthusiasm for the show's future seasons, stating, "As many as they’ll have us for! This is a project where everyone involved is genuinely happy, including the trio and others. When you have such a remarkable combination of talent and a captivating storyline, it attracts more incredible individuals who want to be a part of it. I hope it enjoys a long and successful run."
