Millie Bright has been appointed as the new captain of Chelsea for the upcoming Women's Super League season. With an impressive record of 245 appearances and 15 trophies, including six WSL titles, Bright has taken over the role from the former skipper Magdalena Eriksson, who has departed from the club.
"It is a tremendous honor to hold the prestigious role of club captain," she expressed. "Chelsea has always been and will forever remain my sanctuary, so I am overjoyed to bear this title. However, it is essential to note that nothing alters my mindset. I am truly grateful to find myself in such a privileged position.
"I am thrilled and grateful that Emma Hayes has entrusted me and bestowed upon me this responsibility. Being named captain of Chelsea is an absolute privilege, and I eagerly anticipate the upcoming season."
