The new promotional video for the anime Oblivion Battery was revealed at Jump Festa 2024 on December 17, 2023, announcing the show's release date, additional cast, and more. The baseball sports TV anime is scheduled to debut in spring 2024. Produced by MAPPA Studios, Oblivion Battery is based on Eko Mikawa's manga series, Bokyaku Battery, and will be an original net animation. The manga has been serialized on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ app with 16 Tankobon volumes currently available. It's worth noting that the anime adaptation was initially announced in 2020.

In addition to the trailer, Jump Festa 2024 also revealed the anime's main visual, showcasing Aoi Todo, Haruka Kiyomine, Kei Kaname, Shunpei, Taro, and others. Haruka, the pitcher, wears a solemn expression, while Kaname, the catcher, is depicted wearing his gloves.

Furthermore, details about the additional cast for the anime have been released. It was previously announced that Toshiki Masuda, known for his role as Eijiro Kirishima in My Hero Academia, would play Haruka, while Mamoru Miyano, known for voicing Light Yagami, would take on the role of Kei Kaname.

Both voice actors appeared on the Jump Studio Stage at Jump Festa 2024 to announce the names of the additional cast members. Yohei Azakami takes on the role of Aoi Todo, while Nobunaga Shimazaki provides the voice for Shunpei.

Yuki Kaji, known for his role as Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan, takes on the role of Taro Yamada in Oblivion Battery, with Yoshitaka Yamaya starring as Kazuki. The cast also includes Takeo Otsuka as Eiichiro Kokuto, Mark Ishii as Hironobu Makita, and Kengo Kawanishi as Shuto Kirishima.

The anime is being directed by Makoto Nakazono and produced by MAPPA Studio, with Eijuu Takashima handling the match production. Michiko Yokote is composing the series, and Hitomi Hasegawa is in charge of the character designs.

The series chronicles a band of former baseball players who, after leaving the game behind, reunite when they all attend the same university.
