Microsoft UK Chief Marketing Officer Elevated to Head of Marketing for EMEA Region

Pelosi assumed the role at the renowned technology company in 2022 following successful tenures at EY and Wipro, bringing valuable expertise to the new position.

Microsoft’s UK CMO Bonnie Pelosi has been promoted to CMO of the EMEA region.

Pelosi previously worked as the Europe CMO at IT services firm Wipro before joining Microsoft in September 2022. Prior to that, she held the role of CMO for UK and Ireland at EY from 2014 to 2021.

In her role as UK CMO at Microsoft, Pelosi has been responsible for overseeing all marketing and brand strategy efforts to drive growth for the company. Microsoft has been heavily investing in artificial intelligence, with a reported £13bn spent on its partnership with ChatGPT owner OpenAI****.

She was recognized as one of the Top 100 most effective marketers on Our Website in 2023.

There have been recent changes in Microsoft's marketing leadership. In October, long-time Microsoft employee Chris Capossela resigned from his position as global CMO after 32 years with the company.

In a message to employees, CEO Satya Nadella mentioned that he and Chris have been preparing for his replacement for a while. With the rise of AI, they have agreed that now is the perfect time to make this transition.

It remains unclear when Pelosi will formally assume her new position. There is also uncertainty about the next steps for Fiona Carney, the current EMEA CMO who has dedicated 17 years to the company.

Microsoft is currently on the hunt for a marketer to replace Pelosi as UK marketing lead.
