Piranha Games has announced that MechWarrior 5: Clans is set to release in 2024 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. This installment focuses on the captivating story of a skilled squad of mechs within the Smoke Jaguar clan. Set in the midst of Operation Revival, an invasion of the Inner Sphere, MechWarrior 5: Clans offers a distinct gameplay experience compared to its predecessor, MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, which offered an open-ended and procedural approach. Instead, MechWarrior 5: Clans will introduce a compelling linear campaign, showcasing the evolution of the franchise's gameplay.
The game additionally offers mech progression and customization opportunities, allowing players to modify their own mech loadouts.
Piranha Games has announced that MechWarrior 5: Clans will be released on consoles; however, it remains unclear whether it will be exclusively available on the current console generation, including PS5 and Xbox Series, or if it will also include the previous generation with PS4 and Xbox One.
Piranha Games' president, Russ Bullock, hinted at the development of a new MechWarrior game in January. However, the official announcement for MechWarrior 5: Clans' release in 2024 has finally been confirmed.
