Matty Matheson talked about the rumors surrounding season 3 of The Bear.

In a special interview with We, the 42-year-old shared his thoughts on fans snapping pictures of the cast during the filming of the new season of the popular FX on Hulu show.

"It can be a bit annoying sometimes when we're out in public," he mentioned to Us as he talked about his Crocs at Work Collection. "But we're in a city we love, and people pass by as we're outside."

He added, "I guess we could try to be a bit more discreet. Maybe not all stand outside together. But we're all close friends, so it feels relaxed, to be honest."

The hit Hulu series premiered in June 2022 and introduced viewers to The Beef restaurant, now run by Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) after his older brother Mikey (Jon Bernthal) passed away. Season 1 focused on Carmy's efforts to keep the sandwich shop thriving while coping with his own grief.

The second season ended on a positive note with a successful dinner service at the newly transformed high-end eatery, The Bear. However, behind the scenes, things quickly began to fall apart in the kitchen, setting the stage for major challenges that the characters will face in season 3.

Matheson shared that his character, Neil Fak, is embarking on an intriguing journey. "I believe Neil is in the process of discovering himself. I think he will have a great season ahead," Matheson told Us. "He enjoys easing tensions and being the one to unite people. Neil is a compassionate and sincere individual."

Fans of the show may be surprised to learn that Matheson not only acts on the show but also serves as an executive producer and culinary consultant. Despite his cooking expertise, Matheson suggested that Fak would not be following in his on-screen footsteps.

"I enjoy not being the one cooking. I feel like it would be too predictable," the experienced chef shared. "It might seem a bit cheesy if I were one of the chefs, to be honest. Even in season 2, I'm suited up. Now, I'm alongside Richie [Ebon Moss-Bachrach] trying to navigate the front of house, which I find fulfilling."

Matheson also shared his thoughts on the ongoing debate among fans regarding the potential romantic connection between Carmy and Sydney (Ayo Edebiri). Some viewers are rooting for the coworkers to take their relationship to the next level, while others, including the show's cast, prefer for Carmy and Sydney to remain platonic.

"I personally think Fak would steer clear of that. As a character, I believe I am somewhat detached from the whole situation," Matheson explained. "I see Carmy as my best friend whom I care deeply about. So, I might feel a twinge of jealousy in that scenario."

Matheson, a fan of the show, believes that Carmy deserves to find happiness. He thinks that Carmy should focus on self-improvement before jumping into a serious relationship, stating, "He's got some work to do."

Currently, Matheson is busy filming season 3 of The Bear in Chicago. When he's not on set, he can be seen rocking his favorite Crocs footwear. Matheson has teamed up with the brand to become the new face of their Crocs at Work Collection, which features a variety of styles like the Bistro Clog and On the Clock sneakers.

Crocs

Matheson shared with Us that he loves wearing Crocs and finds them comfortable to work in, especially since he is on his feet all day. He mentioned that it was a natural choice for him to collaborate with the brand as he is a big fan of Crocs and they are fans of his work.

For those interested in trying out the brand, Matheson recommended the Crocs clog options as a good starting point.

"I wear my Crocs every day here in Chicago. When I get home, I continue to wear them because on set, I have to wear different footwear for my show's costume. But whenever I'm not filming, I always have my clogs on. I believe there is a perfect Crocs style for everyone. The new Crocs at Work is so comfortable and versatile, it's like a universal Croc for everyone."
