Matthew McConaughey and his wife, Camila Alves, announced the launch of their new tequila brand in a hilarious — yet fitting — way.
The debut advertisement for Pantalones Organic Tequila, released on October 25th, features a couple riding motorcycles while actor Matthew McConaughey, 53, questions in a voiceover, "When did tequila lose its essence?" His wife, Camila Alves, 41, concurs with his statement, adding, "Exactly! Where's the excitement?" The camera then zooms out to reveal that the pair are not wearing pants, cleverly referencing the tequila's playful name.
Alves adds, "Organic trousers," before gesturing, "Please, do not wear yours." The advertisement concludes with additional motorcycle scenes, unveiling the use of a dolly to pull their vehicles, and featuring the two individuals walking shirtless in an agave field. The brand's official website describes the liquor as "exceptionally enjoyable and authentic," emphasizing its production from "100% Premium Organic Tequila" and rejecting any notion of pretentiousness.
Given that the word pantalones — which is Spanish for pants — can also mean “guts” in Spanish slang, the drink embodies the spirit of taking bold steps, enjoying life, and not taking things too seriously, according to the brand's description. "We all put our pants on one leg at a time, and just like pants, our Tequila is for everyone." The beverage is available in three distinct flavors — Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo.

McConaughey and Alves, who got married in 2012, have no problem showing their playful sides. Recently, McConaughey shared a funny story about his awkward first kiss while having a conversation about the subject with his sons. (The couple has three children together — Levi, 15, Vida, 13, and Livingston, 10.)
During a discussion with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett on the "SmartLess" podcast, McConaughey revealed that his braces got tangled with the lips of the first girl he kissed. "There was bleeding all over. We accidentally bumped noses and I didn't know which direction to go, so I hesitated and ended up making a weird move. It was not a good experience," he humorously recounted. "But then I made my son laugh and I told him, 'You don't have to try to be perfect. Just take your time.'"
Alves, on her part, has previously disclosed that she and McConaughey's mother, Mary Kathleen McCabe, developed a practice of concluding their interactions with a good laugh and a joke. This was after initially not getting along when Alves entered the picture.
"She did all these things when I first arrived, you know? She was really putting me to the test. I mean, seriously putting me to the test," Alves shared during an episode of Southern Living's "Biscuits & Jam" podcast in August. She mentioned that McCabe would use the names of her son's ex-girlfriends when addressing her, speak broken Spanish to her, and engage in other actions.

They reconciled after an incident during their trip to Istanbul. "While putting her to bed, it suddenly dawned on me, 'She's being insincere,'" Alves humorously remarked. "All she wanted was for me to stand up for myself. Ever since that night, our relationship has been incredible, and I have great admiration for her."
McConaughey subsequently validated his wife's account, revealing to Entertainment Tonight Canada that gaining entry into the McConaughey family is no easy task. He emphasized that they thoroughly assess individuals and even within their own family, his brothers and mother are held to the same standards.
