Bethesda's Starfield boasts a vast number of quests, surpassing any previous title, and is brimming with rich lore and content spread across its expansive one hundred star systems. Among the bustling and notable locations players will frequent is the cyberpunk-inspired Neon, situated on the planet Volii Alpha. This vibrant city is a hub for numerous corporate entities and flourishes due to its lenient trade regulations. Additionally, Neon is the sole Settled Systems locale where the consumption of Aurora, a psychedelic hallucinogen derived from the Chasmbass fish found in the planet's vast waters, is legally permitted.
A pivotal mission, known as "The Audition," offers players an immersive glimpse into the daily lives of Neon City residents, presenting a compelling narrative that ultimately unravels into a fierce gang conflict. Triggered as a random encounter upon entering Ebbside through Madame Sauvage's entrance (situated directly behind the Starport elevator structure in Neon's main strip), players will meet a character named Digger Zemin. Digger divulges the ongoing strife between two rival factions, namely The Strikers and The Disciples, and highlights the resultant chaos plaguing the residents of Ebbside, with The Disciples emerging as the more sinister of the two groups.
Madame Sauvage's Place
After conversing with Digger, he will request money from the player in exchange for information. However, payment is not required. Once the conversation concludes, players will receive instructions to meet with the Ebbside strikers at Madame Sauvage's establishment, one of Neon's prominent nightclubs. Upon entering, players will encounter Andrea Sandoval, a lieutenant of the gang, standing near the bar.
Engaging in conversation with Andrea enables players to persuade her to allow them to join the gang. However, she insists on deferring the final decision to the boss, Briggs. Accompanied by Andrea, players ascend the stairs to meet Briggs. If players assert their desire to join the Strikers (leveraging the Neon Street Rat perk can be particularly advantageous), Briggs will then assign them the task of pilfering a data slate from The Disciples' hideout at Warehouse 02, located on the opposite side of Ebbside.
Warehouse 02
To reach the warehouse quickly, return to Bayu Plaza and cross over, then descend using the elevator to Ebbside on the opposite side. Alternatively, remaining on the Ebbside level will also lead you to the warehouse. Upon entering, players have the option to either stealthily navigate through or eliminate all visible targets. While Briggs favors the stealth approach, players can still align with the strikers if they choose to eliminate everyone.
For those opting to sneak, it is advised to move at a walking pace. Players possessing the "Sense Star Stuff" ability can utilize it to track the enemy positions. There are a total of three enemies, all relatively easy to evade and remain undetected from. Players will then need to retrieve the Disciple's Slate from a small storage container within the warehouse. Alongside it, the container also contains 860 credits and an Advanced Modified Magshot pistol.
After finishing the task, players can go back to Briggs and receive a reward of 5500 credits and the Strikers Maskwear apparel. They will then proceed to the next mission for their faction, "Display of Power." Starfield is currently offered for Windows 10/11 and Xbox Series X|S.
