Corruption manifests in various forms, and in Final Fantasy 16, the presence of Mothercrystals and the resulting aetherflood impact all forms of life. People, plants, and animals are all at risk of being transformed into Akashic beings, driving Clive and his allies to take drastic measures to prevent the corruption from engulfing Valisthea.
Regrettably, by the time the protagonists grasp the severity of the situation, certain locations and their inhabitants have already succumbed to the corruption. As a result, the only recourse is to eliminate these entities for the safety of others. The notorious antagonist, Agni, falls under this category in Final Fantasy 16, so brace yourself for a challenging battle ahead.
Where to Find Agni in Final Fantasy 16
How to Beat Agni in Final Fantasy 16
The Agni, a once peaceful beast, can now be targeted for hunting after progressing in the main quest of the Brotherhood. Players will receive guidance from the Hunt Board, directing them towards Waloed. The Agni can be encountered in the southern area of the Halfcombe region, right before reaching The Edge of Infinity.
Players will have encountered two other creatures similar to Agni in previous battles, but they must not underestimate the danger of Agni's attacks. In addition to its standard melee swipes and tail swing combos, players should be cautious of the following:
Agni possesses a move known as Collider, where it rolls towards Clive with the intention of inflicting massive damage. Agni will perform this move three times before concluding with a forceful slam using its body. Players must time their sidestep dodges accurately to avoid taking damage and to evade the slam. This will create an opportune moment to unleash Eikonic Abilities and cause significant harm to the momentarily immobilized Agni.
Agni possesses an enhanced long-range attack known as Firewater, unleashing a fiery torrent from its mouth in a precise forward arc. However, deftly sidestepping this assault is an effective means of evasion. Players may attempt a series of strikes, but should exercise caution as Agni incessantly alters its stance, necessitating swift evasive maneuvers.
Agni's attacks, like those of other large creatures, often have a noticeable delay intended to trap players into mistiming their defense. It is important to remain patient and continue attacking to chip away at Agni's health. Eventually, the threat posed by Agni will be subdued.
Defeating Agni will reward players with 8000 XP, 100 Ability Points, 15500 Gil, and 35 Renown. Additionally, Agni will drop a valuable Stone Tongue, which can be useful for crafting purposes.
