Short Sighted, the 9th main quest in Starfield, is a brief mission that offers a refreshing break from battling space pirates and evading the mysterious Starborn. Players can quickly complete a few simple tasks before moving on to their next destination in the game. To start, players must make their way to The Eye, a Constellation-owned space station orbiting Jemison in the Alpha Centauri System.
Go To The Eye
Players can easily initiate this mission by flying to The Eye, regardless of the planet they are on. Upon arrival, they will discover their dedicated companions diligently working, while Vladimir supervises from the main console, ensuring seamless progress.
Upon boarding The Eye, Vladimir will promptly inquire if the player can assist the crew in their efforts to optimize the ship's functionality. This task will be brief, as players only need to find each crew member and lend them a hand with their assigned tasks.
Help The Crew
In the Scanning Control room, Barrett can be found working on a computer module. He will request that players test the connection on a nearby terminal. Fortunately, the terminal is conveniently located to the right of Barrett. By clicking on "Test Connection," players will successfully ping the Lodge from the Eye.
Also in the Scanning Control room, Sarah can be found. She asks players to retrieve a wrench from the table next to her. Players simply need to click on the wrench to trigger a descriptive action, which informs them that a small explosion occurred in one of the electric boxes due to a spark, despite the equipment being tightened. After this, players have the option to talk to Vladimir and either deny any involvement or explain what happened. Regardless of the choice, Vladimir will request a conversation with the player regarding a more urgent matter- the next quest.
In Facilities FO1, players will discover Sam Coe and his daughter Cora in the room to the right of the Scanning Control room. Sam is currently utilizing a welder and requests assistance from the player. By pressing the action button, the player can offer their aid and receive a successful text prompt. However, it is worth noting that no experience points will be rewarded for those seeking to level up quickly.
Lastly, Andreja can be found in the Cafeteria, which is accessed by navigating through the room where Sam and Cora are located and proceeding towards the right. Inside the Cafeteria, Andreja will ask for the player's assistance in assembling mechanical parts. Pressing the action button will successfully install the scanning equipment.
Talk To Vladimir
With the help of the entire crew, players can now simply converse with Vladimir to initiate their next quest (after receiving suitable rewards and XP). The subsequent quest commences promptly, but players can opt to depart from the Eye and return whenever they feel prepared for their upcoming Starfield mission. Starfield is currently accessible for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
