To locate the guild leader's house, head to Riftweald Manor in Riften. It can be a bit tricky to access, but by following the steps below, you'll find your way to the back gate of the mansion.
Head through Riftwild Manor and keep an eye out for an opening in the left wall. This will take you to the courtyard facing Mara Temple.
After that, make your way through the archway located to the right of the temple. This will guide you straight to the cemetery that you must traverse. Follow the path to the left until you reach a gate on your left side.
At the back of the garden, there is a small metal gate that you will have to unlock. The lock is quite heavy, so be sure to have enough lockpicks with you. Once you manage to unlock the gate, your next task is to locate Vlad. He is patrolling the estate and may not be pleased to see you. Whether you defeat him, persuade him to hand over the key, or simply swipe it from him, any approach will work as long as you secure the key to the mansion.
To gain entry into the mansion itself, the game developers have included a puzzle that may stump some players at first. Your goal is to take down the support holding up the balcony, causing it to collapse. This will create a platform for you to climb up to the door leading into Mercer's House. With the key in hand, you can now unlock the door to the Mercer Frey mansion. Carry on with your quest and have fun playing the game.
