Armored Core 6 marks From Software's revival of their once-forgotten mecha franchise. While the gameplay offers a faster and more arcade-like experience compared to Soulsbourne games, players can still expect challenging combat and boss fights. The central focus of Armored Core 6 revolves around controlling giant robots called ACs, which can be customized and transformed into formidable fighting machines.
Within Armored Core 6, there exist numerous intricate systems and mechanics that players may overlook. One such system is OS Tuning, which grants players the ability to enhance their ACs using a separate form of currency. These upgrades prove invaluable and can greatly influence the outcome of intense boss battles. However, as there is a limited supply of OST upgrade points, players may find themselves hesitant to use them. This guide will outline how to earn OST Chips and provide insight on how fans can respec their upgrades.
OST Chips
OST Chips can be earned by engaging in battles in the highly anticipated Arena. Upon successfully completing the challenging Operation Wallclimber mission, the Arena will be unlocked, granting players the exciting opportunity to engage in thrilling one-on-one fights against formidable enemy ACs from various stages of the game. These intense battles serve as a true testament to the player's skill and AC build, where repair kits are strictly prohibited. Furthermore, as players progress further into the narrative, they will unlock additional enemy ACs to pit their prowess against.
How to Respec OS Upgrades
Defeating opponents in the arena allows players to claim the enemy's AC Data and OST Chips as a reward. These valuable OST Chips can be used at the OS Tuning screen in the garage. It is important for players to make wise decisions with their chip spending, as the cost of OS Upgrades will increase with each level purchased. It is worth noting that even basic upgrades, such as damage resistance or improved repair kits, can be just as advantageous as expanding the core capabilities of the player's system.
If your browser does not support the video tag, players can easily respec if they have made a mistake or want to try a different upgrade. They can do this by going to the OS Tuning screen and pressing the Triangle button on PlayStation or the Y button on Xbox. Resetting the OS Upgrades will require a payment of COAM credits, but it should not be too expensive and will not exceed 100,000 COAM. If players do not have enough credits to respec, they can always earn more by replaying missions or selling weapons back to the shop, as selling weapons will always refund the original price.
Armored Core 6 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
