Fried Calamari is a delectable dish that boasts a crispy texture and savory flavor. It is crafted using Squid, Wheat Flour, and Oil. Consuming this dish provides a subtle boost to the player's health and energy levels, making it a beneficial option for farmers. Additionally, players have the option to gift Fried Calamari to Pierre, the proprietor of Pelican Town's General Store. It is worth noting that Fried Calamari is Pierre's preferred gift, aside from the universally adored items in Stardew Valley.
How to Cook Fried Calamari
To cook Fried Calamari in Stardew Valley, players must first upgrade their farmhouse to include a Kitchen. Next, they need to gather the necessary ingredients.
Catching Squid
Squids are marine animals commonly located in the depths of the oceans in Stardew Valley. Players have the opportunity to test their fishing skills and try their luck at catching Squid by visiting The Beach. Furthermore, there is a possibility to reel in Squids on the Beach Farm Map. The optimal time to catch a Squid is from 6 PM to 2 AM specifically during Winter.
By utilizing the Magic Bait, players can successfully catch Squid without being restricted by the season or time of day.
Squid can also be purchased from the Traveling Cart, where the price ranges from 240 to 1,000 gold. They can sometimes be found in Garbage Cans during Winter.
Getting Wheat Flour
Wheat Flour is readily available at the General Store and JojaMart, priced at 100g and 125g respectively. Alternatively, players can produce their own Wheat Flour by using a Mill. The Mill can be purchased from Robin at the Carpenter's Shop for 2,500g, along with the required building materials: 4 Cloth, 50 Stones, and 150 Wood. The process of converting Wheat into Wheat Flour takes approximately one night.
Making Oil
Cooking Oil can be conveniently purchased from Pierre's General Store for 200 gold. However, players can also choose to make their own by using an Oil Maker. The crafting recipe for the Oil Maker is unlocked when players reach Farming Level 8 and requires 50 Slimes, 20 Hardwood, and 1 Gold Bar.
By using an Oil Maker, players can transform Corn, Sunflowers, and Sunflower Seeds into versatile cooking Oil. The processing time will vary depending on the ingredient used. Once players have gathered all the necessary ingredients, they can go to the Kitchen and click on the Stove. By selecting the icon for Fried Calamari, the dish will be cooked and added to the player's Inventory.
Stardew Valley is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
