Mastering Starfield: Ultimate Guide and Walkthrough

Discover how to conquer the Supra Et Ultra mission in Starfield and unlock the prestigious UC Vanguard faction Master the final three tiers with our comprehensive walkthrough

Players in Starfield have the opportunity to join the UC Vanguard, which is among the initial factions available. This group provides a variety of missions that offer rewards such as XP, Credits, and United Colonies citizenship. The first mission, called "Supra Et Ultra," involves a short history lesson and a test of ship combat skills.

During the main mission titled "The Old Neighborhood," players will come across the UC Vanguard early on in the game. However, it is not necessary for them to join at that point and they can choose to enlist at any time if they are interested.

To initiate the Supra Et Ultra mission, players should make their way to the MAST Building in New Atlantis, located on planet Jemison within the Alpha Centauri System. Positioned in close proximity to the Lodge, it rests on the water's edge near the train station within the MAST District.

Engage in a conversation with Commander Tuala at the auxiliary desk to formally accept their proposal. Following acceptance, Commander Tuala will personally guide you to the elevator, granting access to the Orientation Hall. Within this hall, numerous computer terminals await, allowing you to finalize your Enlistment Agreement. This process entails scrolling through multiple pages and selecting the "Agree" option to successfully complete the agreement.

In the upcoming area of the Orientation Hall, visitors will come across a variety of exhibits that vividly depict the pre-Starfield era. These exhibits not only offer a captivating insight into the historical events but also shed light on the different factions that existed during that period. Players have the option to either listen to the informative narrations of each exhibit or simply bypass them all and head straight to the elevator, which will seamlessly transport them to the thrilling Piloting Simulator.

The exam room houses two simulator pods and a break room featuring the Vanguard Space Tactics Skill Magazine. This magazine grants a permanent 5% boost to ship missile damage. For further information about the exam, speak with Exam Proctor Samuelson.

During the exam, participants will engage in simulated space battles, combating waves of enemies. The test consists of six tiers, although completion of only three tiers is required to progress. Players have the option to retry the test indefinitely, with only the highest score being recorded.

Initiate the test by entering the simulation pod and taking your seat at the cockpit. To conquer the first tier, employ a highly aggressive strategy, utilizing both lasers and missiles in unison to swiftly dismantle the lone enemy ship. The second tier introduces a pair of moderately weaker vessels, while the third tier presents a daunting challenge with the presence of two formidable ships.

After completing the task, exit the cockpit and leave the pod. Proceed to the MAST Lobby and have a conversation with Commander Tuala. He will review your exam and inform you of the estimated duration to attain UC Citizenship. However, this duration holds no significance in light of the upcoming UC Vanguard missions.

Subsequently, Commander Tuala will enlist you into the faction, provide you with a minimum of 7,000 Credits, and direct you to Crew Chief Hearth at the spaceport for your next assignment. Moreover, you will be rewarded with 250 XP upon successful completion of "Supra Et Ultra."

Completing The Last Three Tiers

Completion of the final three tiers of the Piloting Simulator is optional, but Commander Tuala will reward you with up to 20,000 Credits upon successful completion. However, the difficulty of the additional waves will vary based on your character's skills and ship upgrades.

Additionally, the Piloting Simulator pod contains a Simulation Controls panel that can enhance the shields and damage of the simulation ship, or provide assistance from an ally ship. These Debug Tools are only available for a single tier, but players with at least one point in the Security Skill can access the Authorized Users Only option. This allows for the transfer of upgrades between tiers and the spawning of a more formidable allied ship.

The Debug Tools are highly beneficial for dealing with a level 44 ship in Tier four, but they are essential for the fifth and sixth tiers. In Tier five, you will face four ships, all of which are above level 40. Tier six, on the other hand, presents five ships simultaneously, each at different levels.

Starfield is now accessible on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
