Kratos' epic tale in Greece comes to a conclusion in God of War 3 as he defeats his father, Zeus, the leader of the Olympians. Upon finishing the thrilling storyline, players are presented with numerous options to continue their gameplay experience. Among these options is the Challenge of Olympus, which becomes available after completing the main story for the first time. With a total of seven challenges, this feature can present a significant challenge without the appropriate tactics. Therefore, this guide will offer assistance in completing the Challenge of Olympus.

Population Control

The main goal of this challenge is to prevent the number of enemies in the arena from exceeding 50. To achieve this, players need to eliminate as many foes as possible before the time limit expires. One effective strategy is to use Kratos' Nemean Cestus and unleash the Square-Square-Triangle or Triangle-Triangle combo to take down enemies quickly.

Bare Hands

Rewritten: The Bare Hands challenge poses a difficult task of eliminating all enemies without weapons. With a cyclops and two formidable golems, the challenge may seem impossible at first. However, one effective strategy is to utilize a sentry as a blunt object and ram it against the larger enemies.

Players will have to try and hit as many enemies as possible with the battering ram in order to ensure the challenge is completed within the time limit.

Get Stoned

Objective: Allow the Gorgons to turn you to stone 10 times without dying.

Players must focus on timing their button press just as the Gorgon's gaze is about to hit Kratos. This will trigger a quick-time event where Kratos shatters out of his stone form and deals massive damage to the enemies around him. Mastering this challenge requires precise timing and quick reflexes, but the reward is well worth the effort as it can provide a significant advantage in battle.

Players must be careful not to let Kratos get petrified, as the level of monsters will continually increase with each petrification. Checking the surroundings before allowing Kratos to turn to stone is crucial in avoiding this situation. Additionally, if Kratos is low on health, players can gather roaming souls and Green orbs to replenish his health. Use the left analog stick to break Kratos free from petrification.

El Matador – Ole’

Objective: Don’t get gored by the Minotaur. Don’t get piled on by the enemies.

To successfully complete this challenge, players must navigate around the minotaurs without getting impaled. There are two approaches to take: stunning the enemies with a Square, Square, Triangle combo, or dodging their attacks and counterattacking when the opportunity arises.

To handle the large number of foes, players can utilize the L1 + Square combo, which will effortlessly push back waves of enemies. It's important to note that minotaurs have the ability to interrupt Kratos' attacks in God of War 3, so it's best to use lengthier combos when facing the sentries.

Knockout

Objective: Score 1000 Points by knocking enemies out of the arena. Sentry = 16 points, Minotaur= 30 Points, Wraith = 60 Points

Players will find themselves in a duel with a Cyclops at the start of the challenge. To gain control, they must relentlessly attack the monster until the Circle button appears above its head. Once pressed, Kratos will leap onto the Cyclops and take charge. As time is of the essence, it is wise to take advantage of every opportunity to gain control by attacking the Cyclops as much as possible.

Keep mashing the Square button to unleash the controlled monster's attacks against the summoned creatures. Prioritize taking down the larger foes as they yield more points than the smaller ones.

Objective: They don’t die, they multiply. Get 5 Cyclops to spawn.

Players must be cautious as the Hades' Kids challenge begins with a single Cyclops, but as each monster falls, two more will emerge, and their numbers will continue to multiply with each wave. It's crucial for players to keep a safe distance from the edge of the arena, as the Cyclops can launch attacks that may send Kratos tumbling out. Employing Kratos' Blades of Exile and utilizing their various combos, such as Square, Square, and Triangle, should prove effective in taking down these formidable opponents.

Simply Smashing

Rewritten: The objective is to demolish every urn within the given time frame. Although it may appear straightforward, players may find it exasperating if they fail to strategize their moves. To efficiently accomplish the task, utilizing L1 + Square (Cyclone of Chaos) and Square, Square, and Triangle (Plume of Prometheus) is recommended. While most urns can be destroyed with light attacks, some may require heavy ones.

God of War 3 is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
