As part of the Righting Wrongs main quest in Final Fantasy 16, Clive has the opportunity to undertake two new side quests at The Hideaway. By speaking to the respective quest-givers, players can initiate and complete these side quests while the objective to "Speak to Charon" is still active on the screen.
To begin the Needs of the Many side quest in Final Fantasy 16, players need to locate and interact with Alban, the Postmaster, a silver-haired man positioned near the entrance of The Hideaway. Alban will inform Clive that his friend, Randal, has disappeared, and due to his own lack of strength, he will request Clive to search for him instead.
How To Find Randal
Upon accepting the quest, Clive should fast-travel to Lostwing and proceed east, followed by northeast into The Hanged Man. At the end of the lengthy corridor, a bar becomes visible, with Quinten positioned behind it. Engaging with Quinten, Clive will be directed to head south towards Laubert's Pass in order to continue his search.
Before reaching Laubert's Pass, Clive must navigate through Cutter's Gate. To reach Cutter's Gate, Clive needs to backtrack to The Hanged Man's entrance hall, take the southmost exit, and ascend the stone stairs that lead away from Lostwing. By turning right and following the path ahead, Clive will eventually arrive at Cutter's Gate, where he can proceed forward to ultimately reach Laubert's Pass.
After reaching the green circle on the map, players will come across Quinten's Comrade, who is seen kneeling in the center of the road. Upon interaction, he informs Clive that he and Randal were ambushed by a group of enemies, resulting in Randal's disappearance. In order to locate Randal's whereabouts after the attack, Clive is advised to proceed along the southern path.
At the end of this path, Clive will encounter a formidable Level 21 Hill Gigas along with three Hill Goblins. While defeating the Hill Goblins may prove to be relatively easy, the Hill Gigas can pose a significant challenge if players have not recently optimized Clive's equipment.
How To Beat The Hill Gigas
To avoid being struck by the Hill Gigas' powerful attack, Clive should swiftly dodge to the side as the creature starts lowering its club towards him. Additionally, when the Hill Gigas initiates a swing of its club towards Clive, he should quickly dodge backwards to evade the attack.
When the Hill Gigas executes its Big Swing attack, it is advisable for Clive to promptly retreat to a safe distance due to the attack's prolonged duration. However, if players find themselves trapped in a corner at the onset of the attack, they will be required to dodge the Hill Gigas' swings multiple times until the attack concludes.
Moreover, if Clive remains too far from the Hill Gigas, the creature will charge towards him and deliver a club swing. While this move can be anticipated to a certain extent, evading it can prove challenging as the attack unfolds rapidly. The most effective approach to evade this attack is for Clive to dodge immediately after the completion of the Hill Gigas' running animation.
So long as players are cautious and manage to dodge the Hill Gigas' attacks, they can achieve victory with relative ease. As a reward for defeating the formidable creature, Clive will be granted 1 Bone Necklace, 2 Valley Madders, and 4 Wyrrites.
How To Complete Needs Of Many In Final Fantasy 16
After the battle concludes, Clive can proceed towards the eastern direction and come across the lifeless body of Randal. Once Clive closely examines the body, he can then make his way back to Quinten in The Hanged Man to successfully finish the quest.
Quinten will convey his deep sorrow over the loss of a courageous comrade, while also rewarding Clive for his invaluable assistance with 30 Wyrrite, 30 Sharp Fangs, and 1 Meteorite. These valuable resources can be utilized by Clive to craft and enhance his equipment.
