To start fishing in Rune Factory 3: Special, follow these straightforward steps:

Press B to release to cast the line into the water, aiming near the fish.

When the bobber is nibbled by a fish, it will generate a noise. However, refrain from reeling in at this moment. Once the fish securely bites, the fishing rod will be tugged, accompanied by a distinct sound, while the fish creates splashes in the water.

Press the B button when you hear the sound to catch the fish.

When using a Fishing Pole of higher quality, players have the option to charge their cast by holding down the B button. This will result in casting the line further, increasing the chances of finding rare fish. Furthermore, charging the cast enables players to cast closer to a fish's shadow, reducing the distance required for it to approach and potentially bite.
