How to Distract Enemies

In Cyberpunk 2077, players have the opportunity to enhance themselves with physical and neuro-technology, granting them unique abilities. While they have the option to equip themselves with high-powered ranged and melee weapons, cyberware is not their sole choice. Those who wish to showcase their Netrunner expertise can explore its capabilities.

Netrunners possess the ability to infiltrate and manipulate various systems, including buildings, equipment, security systems, and personal cyberdecks. By utilizing their visual scanner, players can identify the type of quickhacks they can deploy on their intended targets.

One option for a pre-installed quickhack is the Distract Enemies function, which can be used on various equipment such as generators, floodlights, vending machines, and more. These items will be strategically positioned close to guards. Here are the steps to effectively employ Distract Enemies:

Wait for the hack to activate.

After the prompt execution of the quick hack, nearby guards will start investigating, providing V with an opportunity to either bypass or discreetly approach them from behind in order to apprehend them. Players have the capability to Distract Enemies by utilizing various pieces of equipment, the quantity of which depends on their available RAM. The amount of RAM is determined by the player's level, acquired perks, and installed Cyberware.

The Intelligence Skill Tree offers essential Cyberdeck abilities to enhance the effectiveness of quick hacks. Players can utilize the Distract Enemies function multiple times on a single target after the cooldown period, as long as their RAM replenishes itself.

In Cyberpunk 2077, players have various options for diverting the guards' focus, beyond solely relying on technological tactics. Leveraging the environment and armed weapons, players can effectively grab their attention. One approach involves using a silenced long-range weapon to create a disturbance. Additionally, incapacitating an individual and leaving their body in plain sight can serve as a distraction, although this action does alert others to the presence of an intruder in the vicinity.
