Acquire the Lasso

The early parts of Red Dead Redemption's story center around assisting the MacFarlane family on their ranch. These missions serve as tutorials for the game's basic mechanics. In order to obtain the lasso, players must complete the mission titled "Wild Horses, Tamed Passions." Bonnie MacFarlane will provide John with the lasso to aid in capturing wild horses. Access the lasso by selecting it from the weapon wheel. Prepare the lasso for use by activating the lock-on feature and then toss it using the shoot button. Accepting Bounties

After acquiring the lasso and meeting the sheriff of Armadillo, bounties will be accessible. The presence of white skulls on the map indicates the display of a wanted poster. To stay updated on new bounties, it is advisable to regularly check train stations and telegraph posts. Accept a bounty by simply clicking on the corresponding poster.

Once the bounty has been assigned a red skull will appear on the map revealing the location of the target.

Always prioritize capturing the red skull, avoiding any fatal shots. Focus on swiftly eliminating the other gang members in the vicinity. Once the target remains as the sole adversary, aim for their legs to inflict injury. Utilize less powerful firearms such as pistols or revolvers to ensure their survival. Subdue the wounded foe by employing the lasso and maintaining pressure on the left trigger. Approach closely and press the indicated Y/Triangle/X button to incapacitate them completely. Lift and transport them, placing them onto John's horse. Subsequently, the player must journey to the nearest town, which will be highlighted by the game's waypoint system. Remain cautious, as gang members will attempt to rescue their comrade and may launch attacks. Reach the designated waypoint to receive a doubled reward. Attaining a specific number of bounties in each area is essential for achieving 100% completion. Red Dead Redemption is currently available for PS3, PS4, Switch, and Xbox 360.
