In the challenging game of Remnant 2, players will greatly appreciate a versatile character who can both support their teammates and deliver substantial damage. The Alchemist Archetype perfectly fits this description, as it focuses on bolstering the combat capabilities of allies.
In the more demanding levels of Remnant 2, sheer strength alone is insufficient. That's why incorporating an Alchemist into your team can be a strategic move. This Archetype excels in multiplayer scenarios, but remains a viable option for solo play as well. Read on to learn how to unlock this powerful character class.
How to Get the Alchemist Archetype in Remnant 2
The Alchemist can be found hidden in Losomn, specifically in the Dran slum areas located in the Morrow Parish and similar regions. For players who begin their campaign in the Beatific Palace or elsewhere, it is advisable to start an Adventure Mode run on Losomn and reroll until starting in the Morrow Parish.
Once arrived in the streets of Dran city, search for broken sewer grates along the walls and position oneself in front of them. There is a possibility that a monster may seize the player by their legs and pull them into a mysterious realm. This typically occurs when attempting to pick up an item suspiciously placed in front of one of these grates.
Instead of facing death, players will discover themselves atop a colossal heap of bones. Just beyond the canal lies an even more massive mound of skeletal remains alongside the very creature responsible for their untimely transportation. Eliminate this monster to claim a precious reward—an enigmatic Mysterious Stone.
Players can return to Ward 13 and speak with Wallace, the dedicated Archetype NPC, in order to unlock the Alchemist Archetype for their current character and any future character as a new starting class. Wallace offers the Philosopher's Stone Engram for a price. It is important to bring some Lumenite Crystals and at least 1000 Scrap before talking to Wallace.
The Alchemist is a support-focused Archetype that specializes in using empowering gases and consumables. They can enjoy the effects of items like Mudtooth's Stew for a longer duration and are able to throw vials that create buffing zones for themselves and their allies. This Archetype synergizes well with all other Archetypes in the game, particularly with the DPS-oriented ones such as the Hunter and Gunslinger.
Players who choose the Alchemist class will commence their journey equipped with a Wrangler 1860 rifle, a trusty Double Barrel sidearm, and a formidable axe for intense close-quarter combat. Mark your calendars for July 25th as Remnant 2 will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
