Marvel Studios' Multiverse Saga is expanding, causing a shift in the release schedule for Phases 5 and 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase 5 has already begun exploring the concept of the multiverse and variants, with several movies and shows delving deeper into The Multiverse Saga. However, the recent shake-up in release dates has caused a significant change in Marvel Studios' current plans.
According to THR, Captain America: Brave New World was originally slated for release on May 3, 2024, but has been pushed back to open in theaters on July 24 of the same year. Thunderbolts, originally scheduled for July 26, 2024, will now arrive on December 20, 2024. The Phase 6 projects have also been affected, with Fantastic Four being moved from February 14, 2025, to May 2 of the same year. Blade, which was initially set for release on September 6, 2024, has been pushed back to February 14, 2025, resulting in the delay of the two Avengers movies. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has given its spot to Fantastic Four, now opening on May 1, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars has been rescheduled for May 7, 2027. However, there is some good news as Deadpool 3 will be released three months earlier than expected, moving from November 8, 2024, to May 3 of the same year.
