Get ready, Marvel fans! The MCU timeline has expanded once again with the addition of six 'outside' shows that are now officially canon. As time goes on, more and more Marvel projects continue to accumulate. In 2024, the slate kicks off with the recently released Echo, followed by Madame Web (which is part of Sony's separate-ish universe) and Deadpool 3.
Many fans argue that certain Marvel projects have been overlooked, including those that have never been incorporated into the Disney-streamlined franchise. Marvel has made a significant change to its canon timeline, causing division among fans.

The six shows were initially released on Netflix from 2015 to 2019. Recently, they have been included in the existing MCU timeline order on Disney Plus.
Jessica Jones and Daredevil received high ratings for their first seasons, while Iron First quickly faded into obscurity.
The return of Daredevil to screens and the setup for future installments in Echo has sparked significant fan discussion. "I've been waiting for this moment since the Avengers reference in Daredevil Season 1. Now I need that Iron Fist and Luke Cage Heroes for Hire Disney+ show more than ever," one fan commented on X/Twitter. Another fan added, "After canceling them, they're finally integrating the shows into the MCU."
“This is a game-changer! The Marvel Netflix shows had their own unique vibe,” a third weighed in.
However, for some fans, adding the shows to the MCU timeline raises more questions than answers.
"I demand a satisfactory explanation for why Foggy and Karen are not in the new show, unless they have been added in the revamp," one user expressed, while another commented "This is disappointing for Agents of Shield fans right now."
"I am thrilled about this, but it seems like Kevin [Fiege] harbors a personal grudge against Agents of Shield," a third user concluded.

As a hard fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I am thrilled about the recent revelation that six Marvel shows, previously considered 'outside' the MCU, have now been officially recognized as canon. This includes fan-favorite series like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Punisher, and The Defenders. This news has sent shockwaves through the Marvel fandom, sparking both excitement and debate.
Personally, I believe this is a fantastic move by Marvel. These shows were critically acclaimed and had a dedicated fan base, so their inclusion in the MCU canon is a long-awaited validation. It's great to see that Marvel is acknowledging and embracing these series, which adds depth and richness to the overall MCU narrative. The return of Daredevil, in particular, has generated a lot of buzz, and I can't wait to see how these characters interact with the wider MCU going forward.
