Martha Stewart ditches tradition and cancels her Thanksgiving feast, citing overwhelming turkey fatigue

Martha Stewart's loved ones received devastating news: Thanksgiving has been called off. The influential lifestyle expert, aged 82, disclosed during an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday, November 16th, that she has chosen to forgo celebrating the holiday this year. Stewart informed host Kelly Clarkson, "I decided to give up on Thanksgiving. It's canceled." Explaining the reason behind her decision, she shared, "Nine guests had to cancel due to illness. Therefore, I contacted my chef friend and declared, 'We won't be having Thanksgiving.'"

Stewart mentioned that she has had enough turkey recently because she has been busy preparing poultry for her various business ventures. She further elaborated that she has already cooked 14 turkeys for her TV show and still has to cook one more for the Today show. As a result, she is tired of turkey and decided to give up on it. However, Stewart still intends to celebrate Thanksgiving by visiting five different homes to taste the various courses. This news may cause anxiety for those imagining having Stewart come over to sample their cranberry sauce.

“Those friends must be so stressed out,” Clarkson, 41, joked.

Stewart did little to ease any anxiety her friends may be feeling, quipping, “Oh, I hope so.”

Stewart has not revealed the specific friends she plans to visit on Thanksgiving Day. However, we remain hopeful that she will make a stop at Snoop Dogg's residence. The pair established an unexpected friendship in the late 2000s, following the rapper's multiple appearances on her talk show.

Subsequently, the duo collaborated on the television show Martha & Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party, which was broadcasted from 2016 to 2020. Each episode showcased the two engaging in cooking competitions with the assistance of notable celebrity guests such as Kelly Rowland, Matthew McConaughey, and Octavia Spencer.

Stewart expressed her admiration for Snoop's chilled-out demeanor and candid nature during a joint interview on the Today show in 2019. She also appreciated his sense of timing.

In return, Snoop conveyed his deep fondness for Stewart, admitting his envy of those who are privileged enough to spend time with her. He confessed, "I genuinely love Martha. Like, I truly love her. When I see her with other people, it sparks jealousy within me. However, I recognize that she is Martha Stewart, and she must cater to the world's expectations."
