The highly anticipated third installment of Now You See Me has officially been given the green light, with the main cast set to reprise their roles. Back in 2013, audiences were left amazed and astounded by the mind-boggling on-screen magic presented in the original film.
Four different types of contemporary magicians were the central focus of the film, entrusted with accomplishing seemingly unattainable heists while evading authorities. Despite the release of a sequel in 2016, there has been no information regarding a potential third installment in the franchise until recently.
Now You See 3 sees the return of big names
Screen Daily recently reported that Lionsgate, the studio behind the franchise, has officially green lit Now You See Me 3.
The crew working behind the camera is undergoing a significant makeover, with Ruben Fleischer and Michael Lesslie collaborating on the screenplay. In the first film, Louis Leterrier served as the director, while Ed Solomon and Boaz Yakin worked on the screenplay. However, for the sequel, Solomon returned as a writer and Jon M. Chu took over as the director.
Despite being in the early phases of development, three prominent cast members have already been confirmed to reprise their roles: Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, and Morgan Freeman.
It’s unclear at this moment if Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, Lizzy Caplan, or Mark Ruffalo will be making any cameos or hold any notable roles.
In Now You See Me 2, the Four Horsemen and Dylan (Ruffalo) successfully join The Eye, an exclusive organization of magicians who utilize actual magic to steal from the wealthy and distribute their riches to the less fortunate.
The potential third installment might revolve around the group's endeavors as active members of The Eye, or perhaps their task of recruiting fresh magicians to join their ranks.
