These visuals hint at the upcoming witch hunt narrative, adding to the anticipation surrounding this contemporary tale.
What’s ‘Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale’ About?
In this series, we follow Sarah Fenn (Cassidy), the local witch who is known for her unconventional remedies that the town relies on to solve their problems. However, the situation takes a dark turn when a popular teenage rugby star named Dan Whithall dies and suspicion falls upon Sarah and her daughter, Harper (Doupe). This tragedy leads to a modern-day witch-hunt as Abigail (Amy de Bhrun), the grieving mother of the deceased boy, seeks justice for her son's death at any cost.
The series appears to be a gripping drama that delves into the themes of love, grief, and vengeance. With strong performances and the elements of a thrilling suspense, there is much anticipation for an official trailer. From what we can gather, the series promises to be an emotionally turbulent journey as a small town unravels its secrets and a family becomes the target of revenge. Alongside Cassidy, Doupe, and de Bhrun, Stephanie Levi-John, Valerie O’Connor, Kelly Campbell, and Stephen Lord also join the cast of Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale in various roles. Produced by Monumental Television (known for Mrs Sidhu Investigates and Harlots) and helmed by directors Lisa Mulcahy and Justin Molotnikov, the series is set to premiere on Thursday, January 4, 2024, with a captivating two-episode debut exclusively on Sundance Now and AMC+. Subsequent episodes will be aired weekly, and the series will be available on relevant platforms in the USA and Canada.
