A teaser trailer for Loki season 2 reveals that Loki and Sylvie will be reunited in the next installment of the Disney+ series. The first season of Loki was widely considered one of the best series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and played a significant role in the ongoing Multiverse Saga. In the season 1 finale, Sylvie killed He Who Remains, played by Jonathan Majors, which led to the creation of the Marvel multiverse and set the stage for Kang the Conqueror's introduction. Loki was displeased with being sent back to the Time Variance Authority and Sylvie's actions, and the upcoming season 2 will address their unresolved issues.
Both the official McDonald's and Loki Instagram accounts have announced a McDonald's tie-in for Loki, scheduled to launch on August 14th.
Why Loki Needs Sylvie's Help In Loki Season 2
A sneak peek teaser for the second season of Loki was released, showcasing the much-awaited reunion between Tom Hiddleston's Loki and Sophia Di Martino's Sylvie. Following the dramatic events of the show's first season finale, the teaser reveals Loki stumbling upon Sylvie, who has taken up a job at McDonald's.
In Loki season 2, despite the betrayal by Sylvie in the finale of season 1, the God of Mischief will have to put aside his pride and heartache. He must seek the help of his former flame to deal with the consequences Sylvie unknowingly set in motion. By killing He Who Remains and granting free will to everyone in the MCU, Sylvie inadvertently paved the way for Kang to take control of the multiverse. Although Kang seemed to be defeated in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the film revealed that his threat still looms large.
In the second post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Loki and Mobius M. Mobius, played by Owen Wilson, were shown in the past, visibly terrified. They were witnessing a Kang variant named Victor Timely discussing his plans to control time. Jonathan Majors, who portrays Kang, will reprise his role as Victor Timely in Loki season 2, as indicated in the trailer. The conclusion of Loki season 1 revealed that the God of Mischief now resides in a TVA reformed in Kang's likeness, and with Timely's involvement in the upcoming season, the series is set to make significant progress in the MCU's Multiverse Saga.
To reach He Who Remains' Citadel at the End of Time, multiple versions of Loki, including the primary one played by Tom Hiddleston and Sylvie, had to pool their strengths. While Mobius is a trusted ally to Loki, he may not be able to offer the necessary support for a mission against a Kang variant like Victor Timely, or even Kang himself, as hinted at in the first season's finale. Sylvie represents Loki's best chance of success, meaning he must once again seek her assistance in Loki season 2. The teaser indicates that their relationship will require some improvement.
