After escaping from the 2012 New York timeline in Avengers: Endgame, Loki is immediately apprehended by the TVA in the first episode. As the guardians of the Sacred Timeline, the TVA is always on the lookout for threats, and Loki quickly discovers that the biggest threat comes in the form of another version of himself. This female version, known as Sylvie, has been on the run since childhood and is unaware of why she became a variant. Similar to the cunning and captivating nature of Loki, Sylvie and her backstory became a standout element of the show.

The season finale of Loki showcased a rift between the two soulmates, leaving Sylvie's future on the show uncertain. However, fans can find solace in the fact that Sylvie will be returning in the upcoming season. Ryan Penagos, the Vice President of Marvel, excitedly announced this news on Twitter during San Diego's 2023 Comic-Con. Under his Twitter handle, @AgentM, Penagos posted, "Loki Loki Loki!" along with images of costumes that will be featured in season 2. One of the notable highlights is Sylvie's new outfit, which includes a stylish checkered coat layered over armor adorned with clothespins piercing the torso.

The display exemplified Sylvie's bold character, mirroring Loki's color scheme and edgy style while maintaining a more refined appearance. In the previous season, Loki's typical attire consisted of a shirt and tie, apart from the TVA jumpsuit. In contrast, Sylvie embraced a similar fashion sense, albeit with a feminine touch.

This serves as positive news for a series that has unfortunately faced controversy. Initially, Jonathan Majors' portrayal of Kang was widely praised in Loki season 1. However, recent allegations of abuse and aggressive behavior surrounding Majors have cast a somber shadow. The handling of these allegations and their impact on Kang's character development remains uncertain. Nevertheless, including Sylvie in the upcoming season is a wise decision considering the previous season's dramatic events.
