Lizzo recently addressed being mentioned in a South Park episode that made fun of weight loss drugs. She expressed her fear and shared her reaction on Instagram. On Saturday, May 25th, the 36-year-old singer posted a side-by-side blind reaction video to the segment.
In the special episode aired on Friday, May 24, titled “South Park: The End of Obesity,” a new drug called “Lizzo” was introduced as an alternative to Ozempic and Mounjaro.
During the episode, the character Sharon excitedly shared, “Now there’s a new obesity medication available for those who can’t afford Ozempic and Mounajro. With Lizzo, I've been able to control my cravings and work towards a healthier weight!” This statement left the singer in shock.
The commercial featured Lizzo endorsing a drug called Lizzo, claiming it can make you feel good about your weight and costs significantly less than Ozempic. In studies, 70% of patients on Lizzo no longer worried about their weight.
As Lizzo watched the video, the commercial also stated that Lizzo allows you to eat whatever you want and do minimal physical activity.

As the voiceover listed possible side effects of the drug, a character in the commercial held up Lizzo's album. The commercial ended with a message about embracing the power of self-confidence with Lizzo. In response, Lizzo snapped her fingers and confidently said, "Period."
After the clip ended, Lizzo shared her thoughts on the parody. She expressed disbelief, saying, "That's crazy. I just feel like, damn, I'm really that amazing." Lizzo emphasized that she has taught people how to love themselves and not care about others' opinions. She proudly stated, "I am that amazing and I will continue to inspire others to be unapologetically themselves."
Lizzo ended her message by performing her version of the song featured in the South Park commercial.
This parody performance follows reports that three of Lizzo's previous backup dancers filed a lawsuit against her. They claimed she fostered a negative work atmosphere, encouraged religious and disability discrimination, and engaged in sexual harassment.
Lizzo denied the August 2023 allegations, calling them "false" and "too outrageous not to be addressed."
She addressed the situation by stating, "These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional."
Lizzo emphasized her dedication to her art, sharing, "As an artist, I have always been very passionate about what I do. I take my music and my performances seriously because, at the end of the day, I only want to put out the best art that represents me and my fans."
