Curtis Jones will face a three-match suspension in the Premier League following an unsuccessful appeal to overturn the red card he received during Saturday's 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur. Initially, the midfielder was shown a yellow card for a challenge on Yves Bissouma in the 26th minute of the match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, after intervention by the Video Assistant Referee, Darren England, the initial decision was upgraded to a straight red card. As a result, Jones will be unable to participate in the Reds' upcoming matches against Brighton & Hove Albion, which will be broadcast live on We Premier League on Sunday afternoon, as well as Everton and Nottingham Forest throughout this month.
Meanwhile, Diogo Jota's one-match suspension, as a result of his sending-off due to two yellow cards, means that he will be unable to participate in the upcoming Sunday match at the American Express Community Stadium.
