Fortnite has been in early access for quite a while, but that doesn't mean Epic Games has stopped adding new elements for its fan base. In the latest release, Chapter 4 Season 4 titled Fortnite Last Resort, certain characters required players to build trust in order to unlock their services. This introduced a new mechanic called Rep, which players need to increase. While this new addition might initially confuse some players, this guide aims to provide Fortnite fans with all the essential details about the Reputation mechanic in the popular battle royale game.
How Rep Works
Rep, a mechanic introduced in Chapter 4 Season 4 of Fortnite, allows gamers to enhance their relationship with specific characters and unlock additional NPC services. As players gain trust from these NPCs, they will gain access to increasingly useful services, ultimately providing an advantage on the battlefield.
Take Nolan Chance as an example. Initially, he only offers a Twin Mag Assault Rifle for sale. However, as players increase their Rep with him, they can also purchase Holo Chest Keys, utilize Prop Disguise services, and even enlist him as a Scout Specialist.
Since the Rep mechanic increases an NPC's value, it's also available for gamers who don't own the Battle Pass.
How to Increase Rep
During Chapter 4 Season 3, players who successfully completed a specific number of weekly challenges were granted extra styles for their Battle Pass skins. However, for Chapter 4 Season 4, this system has undergone some modifications.
As Chapter 4 Season 4 continues, Battle Pass characters will now have their own unique questlines. Gamers can undertake these quests to earn Rep with the characters and unlock additional styles. The quests will be released gradually throughout the season, presenting players with more opportunities to benefit from the NPCs' perks.
On the battle royale map, players can earn a maximum of ten Rep with each character. To view the available Rep quests, players need to access the Snapshot section within the in-game Quests tab.
