Legal Battle Looms: Victor Osimhen's Agent Takes on Napoli over Viral TikTok Incident

Napoli's Victor Osimhen faces ridicule on social media by his own club, prompting his agent Roberto Calenda to consider legal action against the Serie A team Calenda deems Napoli's TikTok video on their official profile as highly inappropriate

Napoli forward Victor Osimhen is considering taking legal action against his own club following a peculiar TikTok video that appears to ridicule the player. This strange incident comes in the wake of Osimhen's significant contribution in securing Napoli's first league title in thirty years.

Osimhen, who singlehandedly strengthened Napoli with 31 goals across all competitions, has become the subject of a peculiar video that was previously shared on the Serie A club's official TikTok account and has since been deleted. The Nigerian player anticipates an apology from the Italian champions, and both him and his management insist on the club taking a strong stance to disassociate themselves from the offensive social media post.

Osimhen's agent, Roberto Calenda, released a statement regarding the incident on Tuesday night. In a post on X, previously known as Twitter, he expressed his discontent with the situation. Calenda emphasized that the video, which initially ridiculed Victor, was shared on Napoli's official profile on the TikTok platform before being removed, albeit tardily.

"This fact has resulted in significant harm to the player, further exacerbating the boy's distress during this recent period of media trials and dissemination of false information."

Calenda stated, "We are reserving the right to pursue legal action and take any necessary steps to safeguard Victor."

Osimhen's contract with Napoli is set to expire in the summer of 2025. Shortly after Calenda's remarks, Osimhen took down the majority of his Instagram pictures associated with Napoli, including the Scudetto celebrations from the previous season.

Osimhen stopped following and then re-followed Napoli on Instagram. The unconventional social media post included a video clip of the striker's penalty miss during their match against Bologna on Sunday, accompanied by a peculiar, fast-paced voiceover.

Tension seemed to arise between Osimhen and Napoli manager Rudi Garcia during the match, and this was captured on video. Near the end of the goalless draw, the 24-year-old was observed berating Garcia after being substituted off with only four minutes left.

Osimhen's contract with the Italian team is set to expire in the summer of 2025. This peculiar social media dispute arises following reports that Manchester United and Chelsea showed interest in signing him during the summer, as he opted not to renew his contract.
