Vernon Sanders, the head of Amazon Studios Television, has provided an optimistic update regarding the future of their show A League Of Their Own. The female-focused sports series, which is based on the 1992 film of the same name, received positive feedback. However, concerns about production costs resulted in a reduced order of four episodes for season 2.
During an interview with The Wrap, Sanders expressed the possibility of A League Of Their Own extending beyond season 2, depending on the collective desires of the cast and crew, as well as the audience's response to the upcoming episodes. Refer to the complete quote below:
I am someone who believes that if there is a positive response and some sort of magical success, it doesn't necessarily mean that it has to end there. The future depends on how it performs and the decision of the cast and creators on whether or not they want to revisit it. Therefore, let's hope for a large audience. Creating a large-scale ensemble period piece like Season One was both fulfilling and challenging. We discussed with the producers how we could bring it back in a more cost-effective manner, and they suggested doing it as a limited series. We eagerly agreed and they have developed something that we find truly exciting. Ultimately, the success will be determined by the outcome.
