Lauren Miller Rogen disclosed this week that she underwent surgery to extract a brain aneurysm.
According to People, Miller Rogen, who is married to actor and producer Seth Rogen, narrated her ordeal during a speech at the Visionary Ball held by the UCLA Department of Neurosurgery in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Due to the presence of dementia in her family, Miller Rogen decided to undergo a comprehensive full body MRI a few years back. Her intention was to thoroughly examine any potential health issues that could impact her lifespan. During the scan, an aneurysm in her head was unexpectedly discovered, which understandably filled her with fear. This discovery reminded her of her great-grandmother's fate, a path she was determined not to follow.
Initially, Miller Rogen stated that the aneurysm was initially small. However, she underwent surgery at UCLA after doctors observed that it had increased in size last year.
"I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Colby, his entire team, and the staff at UCLA who supported us during this terrifying ordeal that I am sincerely grateful to have successfully overcome," expressed Miller Rogen.
She formed the nonprofit Hilarity for Charity in 2012 to raise money for dementia care and research.
