Laura Bailey, known for her roles in The Last of Us Part II and Critical Role, has been unveiled as the voice of the in-game narrator for the upcoming TTRPG-inspired game Worlds of Aria. In the game, players take on the collective role of a group of adventurers working together to save the world through a series of dice rolls.
In the latest trailer for Worlds of Aria, Bailey's narration is reminiscent of Amelia Tyler's work in Baldur's Gate 3. Bailey guides players through the action, responds to their choices, and adds a touch of humor to the adventure. The game revolves around making decisions from a set of options, with the success of each outcome determined by the roll of the dice.
Each of the 10 characters specializes in specific skills or abilities, which can increase or decrease your chances depending on who's leading a particular choice. While you can go through the entire experience alone, Worlds of Aria offers local and online cross-platform multiplayer for up to four players.
Interestingly, Worlds of Aria utilizes a system that heavily relies on percentile dice, which are typically avoided in most systems because it's rare to need to determine an outcome based on a range of 1-100. For example, success might require you to roll between 1 and 30.
Worlds of Aria is scheduled to launch for PC and Switch.

As an enthusiastic fan of tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) and video games, I am thrilled about the upcoming release of Worlds of Aria and the involvement of Laura Bailey as the in-game narrator. Bailey's exceptional voice acting and storytelling skills, showcased in her roles in Critical Role and The Last of Us Part II, will undoubtedly bring depth and immersion to the game's narrative.
The unique twist of using a d100 die adds an intriguing element of unpredictability to the gameplay, deviating from the traditional d20 system commonly found in TTRPGs. This innovative approach promises to create a challenging and engaging experience for players, encouraging strategic decision-making and fostering a sense of camaraderie as they collaborate to overcome obstacles.
