Some people are not happy with Kylie Jenner’s new Bratz collection.

Critics took to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with the skin complexion of the toys from the recently launched capsule. The toys, meant to resemble Kylie Jenner, received comments such as, "Those Kylie Bratz looking a bit dark, don't they?" and "Kylie is not that dark and those features aren't hers, I don't know." Another tweet lamented, "It frustrates me because we already have a problem with colorism, and Bratz made Kylie very dark. That's just so wrong."

One user directly addressed Bratz, saying, "@Bratz, your new Kylie collection is too dark to accurately represent her. She is a white woman. Please fix this immediately."

Some critics complimented Jenner for exuding a "Bratz energy" in real life but suggested that the skin tones resemble her daughter Stormi's complexion. It is possible that the Mini Bratz x Kylie Collectibles aimed to showcase Jenner's likeness when she wore the outfits featured on the toys. One doll wears a replica of the form-fitting Versace gown Jenner wore to the 2019 Met Gala. That night, Jenner had a sun-kissed glow on the red carpet. (The reality star has openly expressed her fondness for self-tanners, with Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam being one of her go-to products. It is available for just $24 on Amazon.)

Introducing Bratz, a distinctive doll that takes inspiration from the iconic Off-White wedding gown and veiled baseball cap donned by Jenner at the esteemed 2022 Met Gala, masterfully crafted by the acclaimed late designer Virgil Abloh.

Jenner's doll collection features a stunning skintight black corset dress by Mugler and a sparkly headpiece, which she wore at the Mugler Couturissime Exhibition opening in Brooklyn in November 2022. Another doll captures her iconic sheer one-shoulder outfit from the CFDA Fashion Awards in the same month. Additionally, the collection includes accessories such as stanchions and a toy dog resembling Jenner's beloved Italian greyhound Norman.

In an enthusiastic statement released on Tuesday, Jenner expressed her childhood admiration for Bratz dolls and her long-standing desire to have her own. She cherished every moment of the past year while collaborating with the Bratz team to create these dolls, and is incredibly thrilled to finally see them come to life.

The Mini Bratz x Kylie Collectibles can be found at various retailers including Walmart, Amazon, Target, Macy's, Walgreens, and Bratz.com. This collaboration with Kylie Jenner marks a significant milestone in the history of Bratz, as the brand's first-ever celebrity partnership. Jasmin Larian, the creative director of Bratz, expressed similar sentiments, stating, "This collaboration with Kylie is a defining moment for Bratz. For the past 22 years, Kylie has exemplified the disruptive, rebellious, energetic, and expressive spirit that Bratz represents."
