Rangers' defeat to Aris Limassol in the Europa League has drawn strong criticism from Kris Boyd, who deeply criticized the players for "betraying the club". With manager Michael Beale being sacked just four days earlier due to a 3-1 loss against Aberdeen, the team's performance lacked direction yet again against the Cypriot First Division club.
In the ninth minute, Alex Moucketou-Moussounda scored with a powerful header, beating Jack Butland. In the second half, Shavy Babicka extended the hosts' lead, making it a two-goal advantage. Abdallah Sima managed to score one for the opposing team, but it didn't prevent interim manager Steven Davis from suffering an embarrassing defeat. This disappointing performance angered We' Boyd, who used to be associated with the club.
"Rangers were deservedly beaten. There's a lot of work to do," he said.

Michael Beale has already been fired, and Steven Davis has once again assembled a team that has disappointed the club. The performance was far below the standard expected from a Rangers player, and certain individuals need to seriously reflect on their contribution.
I am elated to take my dog for a walk as it will undoubtedly be more stimulating than the match I just witnessed. Rangers could find themselves trailing Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic by as much as 10 points when they face St Mirren this Sunday, which will be broadcasted on We.
Boyd believes that the team has experienced a decline due to their poor recruitment, as evidenced by their hammering by PSV Eindhoven in Champions League qualifying and subsequent loss in their first meeting with Celtic this season.

"The team's current state is vastly different from its previous successful stint, particularly when considering reaching the Europa League final. The subsequent recruitment has been abhorrent, displaying a significant decline in quality. The level of underachievement among incoming players is alarming, along with the presence of individuals who have perhaps overstayed their welcome. It may be prudent to consider parting ways with certain individuals."
It's currently a tough period for Rangers. They suffered a loss over the weekend, resulting in the manager being relieved of his duties. While managerial changes are part of the game, it becomes disheartening to witness the same players consistently apologizing to the crowd and offering their gratitude through clapping. It is now crucial for them to step up, deliver a remarkable performance, and secure a positive outcome.
The loyal Rangers fans invest significant amounts of money to support their team, not only within Scotland but also during European campaigns. Unfortunately, they have once again been disappointed and left feeling betrayed.
Davis: I've got to take some responsibility
Rangers interim manager Steven Davis expressed his disappointment after a challenging night, as the team missed a valuable opportunity to capitalize on their previous performance against Betis.Davis acknowledged that the team was responsible for creating their own difficulties during the game. The disappointment was amplified with the concession of two goals, as it meant that they faced an uphill battle to make a comeback.
Firstly, I need to acknowledge my responsibility. In the initial half, we persistently attempted to play through the center of the field, even though it wasn't a feasible option. Their quick forward players were adept at capitalizing on transitions from that area, causing us difficulties throughout the match.
When you fall behind in the second half, it becomes necessary to take risks at certain moments. Our strategy then focused on simplifying the game, aiming to penetrate the opponent's defense with long passes, utilize the width of the field, and deliver crosses into the penalty area. Unfortunately, our efforts were insufficient to secure a positive outcome from the match.
The players showed tremendous effort and determination until the very end. They put in an exceptional amount of energy, surpassing all expectations in that regard.
There was no lack of effort; we never had any doubts about that from the dressing room. However, everyone is currently experiencing a challenging moment, and during such times, it is possible to make regrettable decisions and such.
"Sunday's coming up and it's a really quick turnaround. We're hurting from tonight but it's important as a group we stick together."
