Kourtney Kardashian has been indulging in her pregnancy cravings, even if they don't align with her usual dietary restrictions. The 44-year-old reality star, who is known for her clean eating habits and gluten-free lifestyle, made the decision to indulge at her sex reveal party while expecting her fourth child with husband Travis Barker, as stated on her lifestyle website Poosh.
Kourtney made a bold decision by refusing any dietary restrictions, as revealed in a party recap from Poosh on Sunday, July 2. She simply wanted to enjoy the most delicious food and embrace her pregnancy cravings.
Chef K's menu featured a wide array of tasty treats such as nachos, popcorn, chicken nuggets, corn dogs, hot dogs, sliders, and pizza. Additionally, Kardashian ensured that there were vegan options available for Travis at the gender reveal party on June 24, where they discovered they will be having a boy.
Prior to their wedding in May 2022, Kardashian had three children, Mason (13), Penelope (10), and Reign (8), with her former partner Scott Disick. On the other hand, Barker, who is 47 years old, has a son named Landon (19) and a daughter named Alabama (17) from his previous marriage to Shanna Moakler. Additionally, he acts as a father figure to Atiana (24), Moakler's daughter with Oscar De La Hoya.
To announce her pregnancy, Kardashian creatively held up a poster at Barker's Blink-182 concert in Los Angeles on June 16. The poster read, "Travis, I'm Pregnant," paying homage to the band's iconic "All the Small Things" music video.
Just one week later, they announced the gender of their baby. Barker excitedly played the drums, releasing a cascade of blue streamers into the air. The Lemme founder later shared photos of the event on Instagram, captioning them as "Little drummer boy coming soon."
According to Poosh, the reveal party was organized with just 48 hours' notice. The couple contacted event planner Corrie Mendes two nights before to finalize the arrangements. With haste, the intimate gathering was beautifully composed, adorned with balloons, baby's breath flowers, and Travis' drums. The stage, masterfully designed by Blink-182 production designer John McGuire, provided a visual spectacle while the audience enjoyed the view from wooden stadium seats strategically placed around road cases.
Guests were taken aback by the blue streamers at Kardashian's event, as many had thought she was expecting a baby girl. However, the most surprising aspect may have been her departure from her usual gluten-free and dairy-free diet. Kardashian has previously spoken about how these dietary restrictions contribute to her family's overall well-being. In an interview with Health Magazine in 2020, she explained, "In my household, we avoid gluten and dairy; consuming dairy negatively affects my sensitive skin. Although I am not currently following a keto diet, I have experienced positive changes in my body while on it."
The oldest sibling of the Kardashian-Jenner family has always prioritized her health. While pregnant for the second time in 2012, Kardashian expressed her avoidance of reheated food. In an interview with We, she emphasized her preference for fresh food, stating that leftovers and frozen meat were not part of her household. She further explained that her decision to refrain from reheating food was due to concerns about potential bacteria growth. Kardashian's commitment to maintaining a fresh, organic, and healthy diet is unwavering.
