Kourtney Kardashian's pregnancy journey was far from smooth as she prepared to welcome her first child with her husband, Travis Barker.
According to an exclusive source, "Kourtney had to be admitted to the hospital a few days before giving birth. Both Kourtney and Travis were incredibly anxious during the final stages of the pregnancy, making it the most nerve-wracking one she has experienced."
The source reveals that Kardashian, 44, found comfort in Barker's presence, as he stood by her side throughout. Both parents expressed their deep gratitude and joy for the arrival of their new child, Rocky Thirteen Barker. Kardashian shares sons Mason (13) and Reign (8), as well as daughter Penelope (11), with her ex Scott Disick.
Kardashian's pregnancy posed challenges as she underwent emergency fetal surgery in September due to a complication. However, now she, Barker, and Rocky are doing well.
"Since bringing their son home, Kourtney and Travis are doing exceptionally well," a second source exclusively reveals to Us. "As a precautionary measure following their health scare this summer, they chose to stay in the hospital for a few additional days to ensure maximum safety."
Kardashian and Barker are being very cautious about who gets to meet their baby boy. They have limited the number of visitors and prefer to stay at home. The family has had the opportunity to see the baby and they think he is perfect. The children are thrilled to have a little brother and are eagerly helping Kourtney and Travis. Being back at home allows them to have privacy and fully embrace this joyous new chapter in their lives. They are feeling incredibly grateful and happy.
During an interview for Complex's "GOAT Talk" video in October, Barker confirmed that he and Kardashian, who got married in 2022, had chosen the name Rocky Thirteen. (As previously reported in September, Rocky was already a name they were considering.)
Barker explained that the inspiration for the name came from the guitarist Rocky George of Suicidal Tendencies. He also mentioned that 13 is considered the greatest number of all time. Furthermore, Barker hinted that the name may also be a reference to the iconic boxing movie of 1976, "Rocky," which is widely regarded as the greatest boxing movie ever made.
During the season 3 premiere of The Kardashians in May, Kardashian openly discussed her IVF journey and revealed that she and Barker had decided to cease their efforts with the fertility method. In a confessional, she expressed her unwavering faith in God's plan for their family and stated that if having a baby was meant to be, it would happen.
Kardashian revealed her pregnancy during a Blink-182 concert by displaying a handwritten sign that said, "Travis, I'm pregnant." This gesture paid tribute to the band's music video from 1999, "All the Small Things." Now that the couple has welcomed their baby boy, they are overjoyed and filled with happiness.
Kardashian and Barker's former partners are also expressing happiness for them. According to an insider, Disick, who is 40 years old, reached out to congratulate Kourtney and Travis, although their pregnancy announcement brought mixed feelings for him.
The source stated that Scott understands that Kourtney has desired this for quite some time. Despite his wishes for things to have worked out differently between them, his ultimate desire is for Kourtney's happiness.
Shanna Moakler, who was previously married to Barker from 2004 to 2008, expressed her joy upon hearing about the baby news. Another source confirmed in June that Shanna is genuinely happy for Travis and Kourtney, and believes they will be exceptional parents to their child.
Barker shares son Landon, 20, and daughter Alabama, 17, with Moakler, 48. The musician is also a father figure to Moakler’s daughter Atiana, 24, whom she shares with ex Oscar De La Hoya.
