Lee Jae-myung, the leader of South Korea's primary opposition party, was assaulted with a knife while visiting Busan on Tuesday, as reported by a party official. The attack occurred as Lee was addressing reporters at the construction site of the Gadeokdo New Airport, resulting in a wound to the left side of his neck.
The Democratic Party official told CNN that Lee was bleeding, but was conscious, and has been taken to hospital.
