King of the Hill's revival on Hulu has received an update from co-creator Greg Daniels. Following the success of the animated revival of Futurama on the streaming platform, Hulu hopes to achieve similar results with King of the Hill. The show originally aired from 1997 to 2010 and revolves around the Hill family living in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas.
In an interview with TVLine, Daniels revealed that the writing staff is currently reworking the early episodes and receiving feedback on the first episode. However, no exact premiere date has been announced yet. Fans will likely have to wait until 2025 for the highly anticipated revival.
"We conducted table-reads for two episodes, which brought us a lot of enjoyment and heightened excitement among everyone involved. However, shortly afterward, a strike occurred." [...]
"We are currently engaged in the process of revising either the third or fourth episode, while also receiving feedback on the first episode. Progress is being made steadily, and there is a possibility of premiering in early 2025."
What To Expect From King Of The Hill's Revival
The revival of King of the Hill will feature several well-known actors from the original series reprising their roles. This includes co-creator Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Stephen Root, Pamela Adlon, and Lauren Tom. Additionally, both Judge and Daniels will continue to be involved in the production as executive producers. Root has revealed that the revival will take place years after the original finale and will feature an older Bobby Hill.
There has also been confirmation of Johnny Hardwick's involvement. Hardwick, who voiced Dale Gribble and was also a writer-producer for the show, participated in the Hulu project and recorded a few episodes before his passing in August 2023. Dale was Hank Hill's friend during the original run of the series.
With the returning talent in front of and behind the camera, there is optimism that the show will maintain its high quality when it comes back on Hulu. The revival has big shoes to fill as King of the Hill has a dedicated fan base, and is regarded as one of the best television shows. Additionally, it has received two Emmys and a total of seven nominations. However, with the talent returning, there is hope that the show will live up to these expectations.

As a Gen Z netizen, I am thrilled about the revival of King of the Hill. Growing up, I watched the show with my family, and it was one of our favorites. The show's humor was clever and relatable, and the characters were well-developed and lovable. I am excited to see what the new episodes will bring and how the characters have evolved over time.
However, I am concerned about the potential impact of the Hollywood strikes on the release of the new episodes. The strikes have already caused delays in production, and I worry that they could further push back the release date. I hope that the strikes can be resolved soon so that we can enjoy the new episodes as soon as possible.
