Queen Camilla has taken a break from her royal duties, as requested by her husband King Charles III.

According to a source, Charles noticed that Camilla was working too hard and feeling overwhelmed trying to take care of him. This led to her absence from certain royal events this week.

The insider revealed that Charles, 75, and Camilla made a mutual decision. They both agreed that Camilla should take a week off to avoid overworking herself.

Camilla's next planned event is on March 11, where she will be standing in for Charles at Westminster Abbey for the yearly Commonwealth Day service. In the meantime, Charles is set to communicate with the public through a video that will be shown during the service.

Charles has been focusing on his cancer treatment and has been less visible in public. Camilla and Prince William have stepped in to cover some of his planned appearances since it was announced last month that he has cancer.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that during a recent hospital visit for benign prostate enlargement, another health issue was discovered. Further tests revealed that Charles has a form of cancer.

Buckingham Palace has also provided an update on Charles' planned treatment. They mentioned, "His Majesty has started a series of regular treatments. Doctors have advised him to delay public appearances during this time. However, he will still carry out State affairs and official tasks as normal."

His Majesty has decided to disclose his diagnosis to avoid rumors and hopes that it will help people worldwide who are dealing with cancer.

Charles expressed his gratitude to the public for their support, mentioning the many heartwarming messages and cards he received. During his first public appearance after announcing his diagnosis, he told U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Wednesday, February 21, that the outpouring of support has brought him to tears most of the time.

Princess Kate Middleton also took a break from public appearances to recover from abdominal surgery. In January, Kensington Palace announced that Kate, 42, would not be participating in any royal engagements until after Easter.

A statement released through the palace's official X account shared that the surgery was successful. Kate is expected to stay in the hospital for ten to fourteen days before continuing her recovery at home. Based on medical advice, she is not likely to resume public duties until after Easter.

Kate underwent a planned medical procedure at The London Clinic, according to Kensington Palace. The statement mentioned that the Princess of Wales values her privacy and hopes for understanding from the public, especially in maintaining normalcy for her children. She expresses regret for postponing upcoming engagements but looks forward to rescheduling them soon.

Meanwhile, William, aged 41, returned to his public responsibilities after a short break to support Kate during her procedure. Despite online speculation about Kate's absence, her spokesperson clarified that these claims were unfounded.

Kensington Palace announced in January that updates on the princess' recovery would only be given when there are important developments. This remains the policy, as stated by a representative for Kate on Thursday, February 29.

Kate was seen for the first time in two months on Monday, March 4, being driven by her mother, Carole Middleton. Photos from TMZ show Kate wearing sunglasses as she sat in the passenger's seat of the car.
