At the age of only 13, Grammer's father was tragically shot and killed, causing him immense grief. Father's Death
Grammer revealed in a public service announcement for crime victims that his father was tragically murdered in his own home at the age of 38. The devastating news was discovered through media reports that his father's killer had been released from prison. Reflecting on the horrifying event, the actor shared on E!'s Celebrity Profile in 2001 that the assailant had ignited a ring of fire around his house. As his father approached to investigate, he was mercilessly shot multiple times, ultimately leading to his untimely death.

Sister Karen's Murder
In 1975, following the completion of her waitressing shift in Colorado, Grammer's sister was abducted by two unknown individuals, who subjected her to a vicious sexual assault. Tragically, one of the assailants repeatedly stabbed her, resulting in her untimely demise from the inflicted wounds.
“I miss her to the core,” Grammer expressed to his sister’s murderer during his parole hearing in 2014. “As her older sibling, it was my duty to safeguard her. Regrettably, I failed in that responsibility, and it almost shattered me.”
Despite accepting the criminal’s apology during the hearing, Grammer firmly stated, "I cannot support your release. Granting it my approval would be an act of betraying my sister's life."

Brothers' Deaths
In 1980, Grammer's younger half-brothers, Stephen and Billy, tragically passed away after a scuba diving incident in St. Thomas. Stephen reportedly suffered from an embolism due to a rapid ascent, while Billy's body was never recovered. It is believed that their deaths were influenced, at least in part, by a shark attack.

Big Break on ‘Cheers’
Grammer debuted one of his most iconic characters on Cheers — and the casting changed his life.
In 1984, when Grammer's Frasier joined the Boston bar in season 3 of Cheers to add a romantic element opposite Sam Malone (Ted Danson), little did anyone know that the actor would continue to portray the charmingly pompous psychiatrist for over 20 years and an additional eight seasons on the show. Not only was he recognized with his first two Emmy nominations for his performance, but his portrayal was also instrumental in creating one of the most successful spinoffs in television history.

Addiction Problems
In a candid interview with Vanity Fair in 2015, Grammer opened up about his struggles with substance abuse, specifically alcohol and cocaine. During the '90s, he faced multiple arrests related to his substance use, which included charges of DUI and cocaine possession.
"Let me be direct," Grammer disclosed to the outlet concerning his struggle with addiction. "There was a period when I couldn't forgive myself for my sister's passing." He has remained sober since 1996.

'Frasier' Success
Frasier, which aired for 11 seasons between 1993 and 2004, earned Grammer three Emmys and two Golden Globes, cementing him as one of the most successful TV stars of all-time.
And it wasn't only Grammer who achieved tremendous success: The series propelled its highly acclaimed ensemble cast into stardom as well. This talented group consisted of David Hyde Pierce, John Mahoney, Jane Leeves, Peri Gilpin, and Dan Butler. (Pierce, in particular, received four Emmys for his remarkable portrayal of Niles, Frasier's even more neurotic brother.)

First 2 Marriages
Grammer's initial marriage was to Doreen Alderman, with whom he has a daughter named Spencer. They exchanged vows in 1982 and separated two years thereafter, ultimately finalizing their divorce in 1990. The actor, known for his role in "The Boss," welcomed another daughter named Greer in 1992 with his then-girlfriend Barrie Buckner. Following that, Grammer entered into marriage with Leigh-Anne Csuhany, but their union was annulled in 1993.

Camille Grammer Drama
Kelsey married his third wife, Camille, in 1997. They divorced in 2011 and have two children together, Mason and Jude. Even years after their split, the couple has frequently engaged in public arguments and criticism of each other. In a 2019 interview on In Depth with Graham Bensinger, Kelsey expressed that he rarely talks about Camille because she often speaks about him and he finds it pathetic. He accused Camille, a former cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, of causing a scene at his mother's funeral. In response, Camille accused him of distorting the truth via a social media platform (formerly Twitter) at that time.

Heart Attack
In 2008, Kelsey experienced a near-fatal heart attack while paddle-boarding with Camille in Hawaii. He was immediately taken to the hospital after experiencing severe chest pains.
“They had to blast me twice and get me started all over again,” he revealed to Entertainment Tonight. The thought of all the responsibilities - the countless issues that needed to be addressed and the welfare of my family - compelled me to hold on fervently.”

Kayte Walsh Marriage
Kelsey found marital success with Walsh in 2011 after three unsuccessful marriages. Despite enduring several miscarriages, the couple persevered and welcomed two children into their lives.
