Denying rumours about her cancer battle, Kelly Stafford took to social media to set the record straight and address the frustration caused by false narratives surrounding her recent health scare.

“There are currently numerous stories circulating, and I want to emphasize that I do not have cancer,” stated Stafford, 34, on Instagram on Monday, July 24. "If journalists would take the time to verify facts, they would be aware of this."

Kelly, the spouse of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, expressed her anger, stating, "I am absolutely furious. Typically, I would not pay attention to what others write because it doesn't hold any significance. However, this situation is of utmost importance."

Kelly elaborated on how spreading false narratives about her battle with cancer detracts from the courageous individuals truly fighting this dreadful illness. These individuals relentlessly strive to survive, cherishing every day, persevering for the sake of their loved ones, battling around the clock, 24/7. Hence, kindly redirect your prayers and well-wishes to them.

Kelly Stafford and Matthew Stafford, as depicted in a photo from Kelly Stafford's Instagram account, want to emphasize that Kelly does not have cancer and has never had it. Kelly also apologizes again to those who are battling the disease. Furthermore, she directs her message to journalists, urging them to improve their conduct and to refrain from exploiting her for the sake of attracting attention, especially with the NFL training camp commencing.

Kelly, who has four children with Matthew, is frustrated with a headline that suggests she believes she may have cancer again. She took to her Instagram story to express her displeasure, explaining that she chooses not to share details of her life because people often twist her words for clickbait. While she admits to feeling scared due to certain symptoms, she made it clear on multiple occasions that cancer had already been ruled out.

Kelly, who emphasized that she has never experienced cancer previously, confronted the deceptive narratives a week later following her disclosure about her recent health scare on her podcast, "The Morning After."

"I was absent last week due to my illness. My intention is not to cause alarm," Kelly informed her audience on Tuesday, July 18. "I have been encountering breakthrough bleeding every two weeks despite being on birth control. I have also been enduring extremely heavy periods."

She admitted that when her OB-GYN informed her about the presence of abnormalities on her thyroid scan, it terrified her.

Kelly, who received a diagnosis of a non-cancerous brain tumor in 2019 and subsequently had it successfully removed, described on the podcast that she initially suspected "I have cancer" after feeling unwell for several days. Despite considering the possibility that it was all just in her mind, her symptoms worsened, and she eventually had to be hospitalized due to severe stomach and back pain.

Kelly reassured her audience on Tuesday that cancer had been ruled out by doctors during her hospital visit, and instead she was diagnosed with a stomach bug. She expressed relief, stating, "There's no cancer. That was my greatest fear."

Although Kelly confirmed the absence of cancer in the podcast, she disclosed that her stomach problems persisted. After experiencing significant bloating resembling an eight-month pregnancy, she decided to consult a gastroenterologist for guidance.

“Now it’s kind of the waiting game,” Kelly said on Tuesday, adding that she’s been doing more tests for her intestines and gut. “I just wish we could figure it out.”
