His death came as a shock to the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom, particularly because he had emerged victorious in his battle against Ryomen Sukuna in the previous chapter. Recently, K-pop idol Jungkook expressed his love for Gojo, further fueling the plea from fans on social media for series creator Gege Akutami to revive this beloved character.

Once again, fans have turned to social media to urge Akutami to revive Gojo. The death of this beloved character left a majority of fans deeply unsatisfied. Just a few chapters ago in the manga, Gojo met his demise after an intense confrontation with Ryomen Sukuna.
Fans feel that the former died in an abrupt fashion, as he was declared the winner of the fight in the chapter prior to his death, which also took place off-screen.
What happened to Satoru Gojo in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga?
Satoru Gojo, the beloved character from Jujutsu Kaisen, tragically met his end in chapter 236 of the manga. Ryomen Sukuna proved to be his fatal opponent, marking a devastating conclusion to their long-awaited battle of the strongest. Despite being released from the Prison Realm and agreeing to the fight, Gojo's fate took a heartbreaking turn.
During their intense battle, Sukuna gained the advantage by conjuring Mahoraga and Agito, Megumi's shikigamis, to join him in combat. However, Gojo persevered and dealt a devastating blow to Sukuna with a powerful Hollow Purple attack, inflicting significant damage. The climactic chapter concluded with The Honored One being declared victorious in the epic showdown.
However, the next chapter began with Gojo conversing with the spirits of his deceased friends at the airport. This was followed by a discussion with his former friend, Suguru Geto, in which Gojo commended The King of Curses and expressed doubt in his own ability to emerge victorious in the battle. After bidding farewell, the scene transitioned to Gojo's motionless body lying before his adversary.
Sukuna proceeded to explain that during their confrontation, he acquired a crucial insight from Mahoraga: the ability to surpass Gojo's Infinity. By emulating the shikigami as a 'role model,' Sukuna successfully divided the entire space surrounding Gojo into two halves.
To conclude
He claimed that Gojo's Infinity would be insignificant if he found himself in the same realm as Mahoraga, the entity capable of severing anything. The King of Curses commended his defeated adversary, vowing to remember him for the rest of his days. It was later disclosed that Sukuna utilized his technique 'Dismantle' to launch the final strike against Gojo.
With the demise of Satoru Gojo and Sukuna's resurrection in his original form, the stakes in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe have reached unprecedented heights. Presently, the manga centers on Takaba's intense clash with Kenjaku, while Yuji Itadori confronts Sukuna alongside Hiromi Higurama in Shinjuku.
After BTS' Jungkook expressed his fondness for Gojo, fans of Jujutsu Kaisen were thrilled and have started petitioning Gege Akutami, the creator of the series, to reintroduce their beloved character. Currently, the manga's storyline has transitioned away from The Honored One and is now centered around the other characters as they confront the two main antagonists.
Editor's P/S
As a Gen Z netizen, I feel devastated by the death of Satoru Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen. Gojo was one of my favorite characters in the series, and his death has left a huge void in the story. I understand that the author, Gege Akutami, wanted to create a shocking and unexpected twist, but I think it was a mistake to kill off Gojo so soon. Gojo was a complex and well-developed character, and I think there was still a lot of potential for his story. I'm hoping that Akutami will eventually bring Gojo back to life, but I'm not sure if that will happen.
I also think it's interesting that Jungkook from BTS is a fan of Jujutsu Kaisen. It's cool to see that someone so famous is into the same things that I am. I think it's also great that Jungkook is using his platform to raise awareness for the series. I hope that more people will start watching Jujutsu Kaisen because of Jungkook's recommendation.
