Josh Peck, the former star of Drake & Josh, is excited to be a member of the Oppenheimer cast after the movie's success at the 2024 Oscars.

He posted a funny TikTok video on Monday, March 11, joking about his role in Christopher Nolan's epic drama.

Peck wrote over the clip, “When people ask if I thought I’d ever be in a Best Picture.” He lip-synched to a popular audio where an interviewer asked, “Is that what’s happening?” Peck replied with confidence, “100 percent.”

Peck's character, physicist Kenneth Bainbridge, nervously pressed the button that detonated the first atomic bomb in history in the film Oppenheimer. When asked where his confidence came from, Peck simply replied, "Delusion." Despite having a small role, his character played a significant part in the movie, which went on to win seven Academy Awards on Sunday, March 10.

Oppenheimer not only won Best Picture, but also took home awards for Best Actor (Cillian Murphy), Best Supporting Actor (Robert Downey Jr.), Best Director, Best Original Score, Best Film Editing, and Best Cinematography. The film also received nominations for Best Supporting Actress (Emily Blunt), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hair Styling, and Best Sound.

When Murphy, who is AGE, went up on stage to accept his award for portraying the titular physicist, he admitted to the audience that he was feeling a bit overwhelmed.

"I want to thank the Academy, Chris Nolan, and Emma Thomas," he said. "The past 20 years have been a wild, exhilarating, and creatively satisfying journey that you've taken me on. I am deeply grateful to all of you."

Murphy also expressed his appreciation for the cast and crew, and gave a shout-out to his fellow nominees in the Best Actor category.

As a proud Irishman, I am honored to have been part of a film about the man behind the creation of the atomic bomb. Whether for better or for worse, we are all now living in Oppenheimer’s world. With that in mind, I would like to dedicate this award to the peacemakers.

Before his involvement in the Oppenheimer film, Peck was a familiar face on Nickelodeon shows such as The Amanda Show, Drake & Josh, All That, iCarly, and Victorious. He then expanded his acting skills on YouTube and went on to showcase his talents on The Mindy Project, Grandfathered, Fuller House, Turner & Hooch, and How I Met Your Father.

In March 2022, Josh Peck released a memoir called Happy People Are Annoying. He has two kids with his wife Paige O’Brien.

Even though he has been trying to take on more serious acting roles, Josh Peck told We in March 2023 that he has no regrets about his time as a child star.

"I might have reconsidered letting my awkward teenage years be shown again," he shared with Us. "But the truth is, from Drake & Josh to all my projects after that, I am proud to bring joy to families. I feel fortunate to be 36, still doing what I love."
