When it comes to stripping down on screen, Jon Hamm is only concerned about the room temperature.

At 52 years old, the actor plays the role of murderous sheriff Roy Tillman on season 5 of Hulu's Fargo, which just premiered. During the filming of an exterior scene in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for episode 2, Hamm was requested to be naked. Reflecting on the experience during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday, November 28, Hamm joked, "I thought I had a clause in my contract that said being naked is fine, but being cold and naked is not great. I prefer to be warm and naked."

Hamm described filming the show in Canada where he experienced extremely cold temperatures, joking about the dangers of filming in temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees. In a specific scene, his character is interrogated by two FBI agents while sitting in a hot tub, with a brief glimpse of Hamm's backside as he leaves the jacuzzi.

When questioned by host Jimmy Kimmel about what the actors portraying the FBI agents witnessed while filming the scene, Hamm responded with a sly smile, "The magnificent beauty of God's creation, truly."

Hamm explained that there was a "flesh-colored sock" that is tightly cinched around him, which he found to be "not pleasant."

"They refer to it as a c—k sock, Jimmy," Hamm said. When Kimmel asked if there was someone who handled the sock, Hamm replied, "If there is one, I didn't use one. I handled it myself. I have 52 years of experience. I'm quite skilled."

The Mad Men actor also opened up about the prosthetic nipple rings he wore while filming, revealing that there is a specialized department responsible for ensuring the accessories appear realistic.

“These were actual nipple rings inserted into a fake nipple,” he clarified. “There is a dedicated prosthetics department. It’s not magic - someone’s job was specifically to create realistic nipples.” He then joked: “You’ve got the people at Gerber, and then you’ve got this guy.”

Hamm first opened up about the faux-nipple process during a Fargo screening earlier this month.

“At the time, I had to undergo the process of having extremely blue latex applied to my nipples, followed by the creation of remarkably realistic prosthetic nipples that were pierced and placed over my own nipples for the shoot," he explained. "The crew truly deserves more recognition."

Hamm is set to appear with Juno Temple, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Joe Keery in the fifth season of the anthology series. The show is based on the 1996 movie of the same name and is inspired by the original Fargo film directed by Joe and Ethan Coen. Created by Noah Hawley, Fargo first premiered on FX in 2014.

Hawley playfully hinted at season 5's inspiration during the show's screening, suggesting that in polite society, people are expected to withstand pressure until they eventually snap. He noted that instead of passive aggression, he is seeing more outright aggression in today's world. This led him to question what happens to fundamentally good people when they are pitted against their neighbors in a hostile environment.
