Jon Cryer expressed his happiness that his former Two and a Half Men costar Charlie Sheen and the show’s cocreator Chuck Lorre have resolved their feud.

“I’m really glad they made up,” Cryer, 58, told Entertainment Tonight on Monday, December 18. “I can only [speak] for Chuck, clearly. He has the enormous relief of somebody who’s been able to rekindle a friendship that was really meaningful to him.”

Cryer stated that Sheen, aged 58, and Lorre, aged 71, had a close relationship during the early years of the CBS sitcom. He remarked that their reconciliation was truly heartwarming. The falling out occurred in 2011 when Sheen publicly insulted Lorre, causing the shutdown of production of Two and a Half Men amid Sheen's struggles with drug and alcohol addiction, leading to his dismissal from the show.

After over a decade of estrangement, Lorre asked Sheen to play a version of himself in his Max series Bookie, which premiered in November.

In a recent interview with Variety, Lorre discussed his decision to reach out to Sheen's representative about a role, believing that Sheen was in a good place. Despite feeling nervous about reconnecting, Lorre found that Sheen was also ready to reconcile.

"Almost immediately, I remembered that we were friends once," Lorre shared. "And that friendship just seemed to reappear. It was healing, to say the least. And he was also willing to poke fun at himself."

Charlie Sheen struggled with alcohol and drug abuse during his time on Two and a Half Men, but he got sober in late 2017. During a 2022 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jon Cryer recalled being worried about his costar during the height of Sheen’s addiction.

"I remember Chuck Lorre and I had a moment where we looked at each other and agreed that it wasn't worth continuing the show if it meant enabling Charlie Sheen to harm himself. We didn't want to be a part of something that would contribute to his downfall by giving him money to do something that could end his life," Cryer recounted.

As for the possibility of teaming up with Sheen again for a Two and a Half Men reboot, Cryer stated on Monday that he's "not going to rule anything out." However, unlike Lorre, Cryer hasn't had recent contact with Sheen.

Cryer confessed that he hasn't communicated with Charlie and isn't sure if he still has his number. He added that anything is possible.

After 12 seasons, Two and a Half Men concluded in 2015. Ashton Kutcher came on board in season 9 to replace Sheen. In the season finale, Sheen's character, portrayed by a body double without showing his face, comes back to his old home and gets crushed by a falling piano.
