Bon Jovi is set to release a new album in June. However, the band's lead singer is not yet prepared to embark on a tour to promote it.

Jon Bon Jovi underwent vocal cord surgery in 2022 and is currently in the process of recovery. He hopes to resume touring once he is fully recovered, although there is no definite timeline for when that might happen.

During a recent interview with Boston’s Mix 104.1 radio station, the 62-year-old singer expressed uncertainty about going on tour. He mentioned that although he hopes to do a tour next year, he is currently in the process of recovering from a major surgery.

Jon explained that one of his vocal cords had thickened to the size of his thumb, while the other had shrunk to the thickness of his pinky. Fortunately, a surgeon was able to provide him with a cutting-edge implant to help rebuild the cord.

He mentioned, "I can write and perform songs as good as anyone else. However, I need my tools back."

Nineteen months have passed, and Jon is still on the road to recovery. Although he can sing, he is not yet able to perform for the long durations required for a tour. The band has not toured since 2022, just before his surgery. As the group marks its 40th anniversary, the lead singer is putting in the effort to make a comeback.

Jon shared his ambition to perform for two-and-a-half hours a night, four nights a week, for months on end as he continues to recover and work towards that goal. He mentioned being able to take his time and record a song a day for his upcoming album.

Bon Jovi's 16th studio album, Legendary, is scheduled to be released on June 7th.

Jon expressed that the new record brings back a sense of joy. The writing and recording process has elevated the feel-good Bon Jovi vibe.

In addition to the new record, the band is gearing up for an upcoming Hulu docuseries titled Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story. The docuseries, created in collaboration with all past and present band members, is set to premiere on April 26.

Jon Bon Jovi mentioned that he is no longer in touch with former guitarist Richie Sambora. Jon explained that they are not in contact because Richie is no longer part of the organization. Jon emphasized that even though they are not in touch, there is still love between them. It has been 11 years since Richie stopped showing up.

Bon Jovi released the title track from the new album on Thursday, March 14.
